摘要： Systems and methods for achieving controlled load transition between power supplies and battery units are described. A method may include determining that a Power Supply Unit (PSU) coupled to an IHS via a power transmission interface is turned off; allowing a Backup Battery Unit (BBU) coupled to the IHS via the power transmission interface and in parallel with the PSU via a current sharing bus to supply all current consumed by the IHS via the power transmission interface while the PSU is turned off, where the PSU and the BBU are each configured to output a current sharing signal onto the current sharing bus that is indicative of the PSU's or BBU's current being supplied to the IHS via the power transmission interface; reducing a current sharing scaling factor of the BBU; determining that the PSU is turned back on; and increasing the current sharing scaling factor of the BBU.

The BBU element may include a rack-mountable chassis with a battery drawer. A battery may be disposed within the battery drawer, and at least one power module may be coupled to the battery. The BBU element may also include a power module controller that causes the battery to charge from or discharge to a busbar coupled to the BBU element. The power module controller may also communicate power management information to a power infrastructure controller.

Additionally, the infrastructure may include a battery back-up unit (BBU) element coupled to the busbar. The BBU element may charge from and discharge to the busbar.

The detachable PCIB includes a body section and a terminal disposed within the body section. The terminal may be coupled to an AC power source. A wiring block may also be disposed within the body, and the modular wiring block may be coupled to the terminal. The wiring block may arrange power input from the AC power source into a pre-determined output configuration corresponding to a detachable interface. The system may also include the detachable interface, and the detachable interface may be configured to couple with an integrated connector of the rack-level power infrastructure. The detachable interface may be common to all types of AC power sources.

摘要： Systems and methods for achieving a linear load transition between power supplies and battery units are described. In some embodiments, a system may include a Power Supply Unit (PSU) coupled to an Information Handling System (IHS) via a power transmission interface; a Backup Battery Unit (BBU) coupled to the IHS via the power transmission interface in parallel with the PSU; and a controller within the BBU. The controller may be configured to determine that the PSU has turned off; allow the BBU to supply all current consumed by the IHS via the power transmission interface while the PSU is turned off; detect that the PSU has turned back on; and in response to the detection, reduce an internal reference of the BBU such that an output current of the BBU is decreased linearly and an output current of the PSU is increased linearly.

摘要： A hot-swap circuit for providing soft start and overcurrent protection to an electronic circuit may include a controller and a timer. The controller may be configured to sense an electrical current associated with the hot-swap circuit, based on the electrical current sensed, perform current limiting of the electrical current to minimize inrush current to the electronic circuit, and disable the electrical current from flowing to the electronic circuit in response to the electrical current exceeding an overcurrent threshold for longer than a duration of a fault timer. The timer circuit may be configured to, for a period of time after enabling of the hot-swap circuit, cause the duration of the fault timer to be a first duration, and after the period of time, cause the duration of the fault timer to be a second duration significantly shorter than the first duration.
