A lower-edge leak prevention member is attached below the developer bearing body. End leak prevention members are attached on either side of the lower-edge leak prevention member, near lengthwise ends of a developer bearing body. Portions of the developing case where the end leak prevention members are attached, are indented lower than the portion where the lower-edge leak prevention member is attached. Resilient foam members are attached an the same surface as the lower-edge leak prevention member, with one side surface in contact with one side surface of the corresponding end leak prevention member.

    • A layer thickness regulating blade 64 has a plate spring 64b and a pressing number 64a fixed thereto. The plate spring 64b is formed longer than the pressing member 64a so that both ends of the plate spring 64b are exposed. A front surface resilient foam seal 112 made from sponge is attached to the exposed portions, in contact with sides of the pressing member 64a. Further, a Teflon™ film 113 is attached on the plate spring 64b so as to cover the front surface resilient foam seal 112. A sponge side seal 111 is adhered to the rear surface of the plate spring 64b. A sponge side seal 107 is adhered to the developing case 51 at a position that confronts the blade side seal 111. An end seal 106 is adhered across a step portion E of the developing case 51 and the upper end of the base seal 104, and can compressing deform with the blade side seal 111 and the upper side seal 107.

    • In order to prevent toner leaks from both sides of a developing roller disposed within a case accommodating polymerized toner, side seals each having a TEFLON® (polytetrafluoroethylene) felt member on its surface are provided to make sliding contact with a surface of the developing roller. In addition, “Hanarl FL-Z75” (80-90 wt. % hydrofluorocarbon and 10-20 wt. % polytetrafluoroethylene) manufactured by Kanto Kasei Ltd., is used as a lubricating agent for the TEFLON® felt members to make them more lubricative. Accordingly, noise generated by the side seals sliding contact with the developing roller can be reduced. To prevent toner leaks from the sides of the developing roller, a film or resin stopper is disposed at a lower-end front edge of the case to stop the toner.

    • A process cartridge, which includes a developing cartridge and a photosensitive cartridge for use with an image forming apparatus including a driving force output part and a feeding part, is provided. The developing cartridge includes a developer carrier, a first electrode provided at one side thereof, and a driving force receiving part provided at another side thereof and aligned with the first electrode such that the driving force receiving part overlaps the first electrode in a side view. The photosensitive cartridge, to which the developing cartridge is removably mounted, includes a photosensitive member, and a second electrode that contacts the first electrode when the developing cartridge is mounted in the photosensitive cartridge and that contacts the feeding part when the photosensitive cartridge is mounted in the image forming apparatus. The first electrode is pressed toward the driving force receiving part by contact with the second electrode.
