    • A method and an apparatus for activating and deactivating secondary cells in a carrier aggregation environment are provided. In one embodiment, a Medium Access Control (MAC) Control Element (CE) command is received from a base station for activating/deactivating a secondary cell associated with a User Equipment (UE). The secondary cell configured for the UE is activated/deactivated based on the MAC CE command. Further, a first uplink grant is received from the base station upon activation/deactivation of the secondary cell. Accordingly, quality information (e.g., channel quality information, sounding reference signal information, and the like) associated with the cell(s) is transmitted to the base station in the received first uplink grant over a physical uplink shared channel. Furthermore, a hybrid automatic repeat request entity associated with the secondary cell is reset.

    • A method and system for handling in-device co-existence in wireless network technologies is disclosed. The method provides Time Division Multiplexing and power domain based solutions for in device co-existence. In TDM based approach, the method sends interference indication and assistant information to the Base station. In an embodiment, a preferred solution may also be sent to the Base station. Further, the Base station takes a decision on the preferred solution to be employed. In power domain approach, Base station reduces the transmission power of the LTE uplink transmission which actually overlaps with ISM/GNSS reception opportunity. Further, a hybrid based solution for implementation of TDM and power domain solution based on the scenario is also disclosed. Even though the proposed mechanism is discussed from 3GPP LTE/LTE-Advanced context, it is in general applicable to similar cellular technologies.

    • The invention relates to telecommunication systems and in particular to a method and system for efficient connection setup procedure for mobile terminated calls. A method of connection setup for mobile terminated calls is proposed in which a page message originating from the access network contains one access sequence along with access terminal identity or unicast access terminal identifier (UATI) of the paged access terminal. When more than one access terminal uses the same access sequence for sending their access probe at the same time a collision may occur. Access network selects access sequences from a reserved pool to direct the paged access terminal for performing access attempt to avoid collisions during access attempts. With this resource pooling, there is no need to send bind request and hence connection setup time reduces.
