    • A user interface (UI) control apparatus connected to a remote appliance via a communication path. The UI control apparatus is capable of providing a suitable UI for a user which may be stored on the UI control apparatus or the remote appliance without the need of a data management server. The UI control apparatus including: a UI list obtaining unit configured to add information on a UI program stored in a remote appliance to a UI list which is information listing at least one UI program stored in the UI control apparatus, the remote appliance being connected to the UI control apparatus via a communication path; and a UI obtaining unit configured to (i) search the remote appliance and (ii) obtain, from the remote appliance, a UI program selected by a user from the UI list with the information on the UI program added to the UI list.

    • A display process device that includes a screen definition information interpretation section that interprets screen definition information which defines a moment in which a first screen event is to be issued, and issues a first screen event. The first screen event is for executing an action, and corresponds to an instruction inputted from an input I/F section. A first event conversion section converts the first screen event to a first device event which may be interpreted by a device resource control section. The device resource control section controls a device resource in accordance with the first device event. Also, the device resource control section issues a second device event having described thereon a result of referencing and modifying a device resource. A second event conversion section converts the second device event to a second screen event which may be interpreted by a screen definition information interpretation section.

    • An event control section 210 receives an event notification from an input operation control section 212. If the received event is a user ordered event based on an operation by a user 215, the event control section 210 gives the received event to a GUI content reproduction section 209. On the other hand, if the received event is a logic ordered event based on an order from a logic 201, notification of future generated user ordered events are temporarily stopped and the logic ordered event is notified to GUI content reproduction section 209. The temporary stop of notification of the user ordered event is released after completion of the logic ordered event at the GUI content reproduction section 209.

    • Provided is a controller capable of preventing unnecessary contents from being displayed in a period from when a failure occurs on a terminal apparatus to when the failure is restored. When a failure monitoring section detects that a failure has occurred on a display control section, failure detection information is outputted to a display update control section. The display update control section, in response to the outputted failure detection information, suspends updating a display, which is performed by a display section. And when a restoration monitoring section detects that the display control section has been restored from the failure, restoration detection information is outputted to the display update control section. The display update control section controls the display section so as to suspend updating the display in response to the failure detection information and starts updating the display in response to the restoration detection information.
