    • A display apparatus includes: a pixel array in which pixel circuits each having a light emitting device, a drive transistor, and a retention capacity are arranged in a matrix; a signal selector supplying a video signal voltages to signal lines arranged in columns on the pixel array; a drive control scanner providing power supply pulses to power supply control lines arranged in rows on the pixel array and applying drive voltages to the transistors; and a write scanner providing scan pulses to writing control lines arranged in rows on the pixel array and executing input of the video signal voltages to the pixel circuits. A threshold correction of setting a gate-source voltage of the transistor to a threshold voltage of the transistor and an input of the video signal voltage from the signal line to between the gate and the source of the transistor are controlled by the scan pulse of the row of the pixel circuit and the scan pulse of the previous row of the pixel circuit.

    • Disclosed herein is a driving method of a display device. The display device includes display elements arranged in a form of a two-dimensional matrix and each have a driving circuit and a light emitting section. The driving circuit includes a driving transistor having a gate electrode and source/drain regions and a capacitance section, and a current flowing through the light emitting section via the source/drain regions of the driving transistor. The driving method includes the step of performing a first writing process, a second writing process, and then setting the gate electrode of the driving transistor in a floating state. A current corresponding to a value of a voltage retained in the capacitance section for retaining a voltage of the gate electrode of the driving transistor with respect to a source region of the driving transistor flows through the light emitting section, so that the light emitting section emits light.

    • A display device includes a display unit, a horizontal drive circuit, and a vertical drive circuit, the display unit including pixels in a matrix formation, as well as respective signal lines and scan lines via which the drive circuits drive the pixels. Each pixel includes a light-emitting element, a hold capacitor, a write transistor, and a drive transistor. Mobility fluctuations in the drive transistor are compensated for by successively setting the voltage of the signal line to an intermediate voltage and to a tone voltage. In addition, the intermediate voltage is varied in accordance with the tone voltage as well as with the distance from the input terminal of a write signal to a respective pixel. The device thereby compensates for mobility fluctuations in the drive transistor and prevents shading due to irregularities in the waveform of the write signal.
