    • A split core of the invention is formed from a plurality of magnetic steel sheets that are stacked in a thickness direction and joined together by crimping, and that when provided in plurality, forms a stator core by being arranged in a circle. This split core includes a yoke that extends in a circumferential direction; a tooth that extends radially inward from an inner peripheral side end portion of the yoke; and an abutting portion that is formed on a joining surface of the yoke that joins with a yoke of another adjacent split core. A radial crimping portion that is longer in a radial direction and is positioned to an outer peripheral side of a maximum outer radius of the abutting portion, and that is crimped to a crimping portion of another magnetic steel sheet, is provided on each of the magnetic steel sheets.

    • A stator core capable of improving stator core segments in assemblability, positioning accuracy and rigidity is provided. A stator core includes a plurality of stator core segments, and a yoke part of each stator core segment has a first junction and a second junction joined to other adjacent stator core segments. A protrusion is formed at the first junction, and a recess capable of receiving the protrusion is formed at the second junction. The opening area of the recess increases from a deepest section of the recess to an opening of the recess. In the yoke part, a first caulking site where the stator core segment is caulked in an axial direction is formed on an arc passing through the central part of a radial length of the protrusion and extending in a circumferential direction.

    • A ring manufacturing method and a ring manufacturing apparatus according to the invention does not require the preparation of a specially shaped plate material for each type of ring plate to be manufactured. It is therefore possible to manufacture a ring plate of any thickness or width with a high degree of accuracy even in high-variety, low-volume production. In a plate material forming step, a round bar 1 is formed by rollers 3, 4 into a plate material having any desired cross-sectional shape. In a slant rolling step, the plate material is slant rolled by slant rollers 9, 10 and thereby formed into a specially shaped plate material whose thickness increases in the width direction from one side to the other. In a ring forming step, this specially shaped plate material is formed into a ring shape by a ring forming device 14. The specially shaped plate material can be formed on the ring forming production line, whereby the accuracy of the shape of the resulting ring is achieved without having to separately prepare a specially shaped plate material for each type of ring plate to be manufactured.

    • The electric rotating machine includes a stator winding constituted of conductor segments each having a pair of in-slot portions and a coil end section projecting from both axial ends of a stator core. The coil end section includes a joint-side end portion having a skew portion intersecting with another one of the conductor segments at an axial end of the stator core. The skew portion is formed with a joint end portion at an extremity thereof, the joint end portion being formed with a conductor exposed portion where an inner conductor is exposed and joined to a conductor exposed portion of another conductor segment. A joint area between the joint end portions and a vicinity thereof are covered by an insulating resin member. The insulating resin member is thicker at a portion covering the conductor exposed portions than at a portion covering other than the conductor exposed portions.

    • A stator for an electric rotating machine includes a hollow cylindrical stator core, a stator coil, an outer cylinder, and at least one restraint. The stator core is comprised of a plurality of stator core segments that are arranged in the circumferential direction of the stator core to adjoin one another in the circumferential direction. The stator coil is mounted on the stator core. The outer cylinder is fitted on the radially outer surfaces of the stator core segments so as to fasten the stator core segments together. The restraint is arranged on an axial side of the stator core and retained by the outer cylinder so as to restrain axial deformation of the stator core segments due to the fastening force of the outer cylinder.
