    • A multi-function machine has a jam removing apparatus comprising a first case disposed with respect to a printer unit to form a portion of paper supply path of the printer unit and having a portion of component parts of a scanner unit therein, a second case disposed with respect to the first case to form a portion of document supply path of the scanner unit together with the first case and having the rest of the component parts of the scanner unit therein, a first moving unit to separate the first and second cases apart from the printer unit so as to remove a jammed sheet of paper when the sheet of paper is jammed in the printer unit, and a second moving unit to separate the second case apart from the first case so as to remove a jammed document when the document is jammed in the scanner unit. The multi-function machine can remove the jammed sheet of paper and/or document jammed in scanning and/or printing operations, en bloc in the same place by one jam removing apparatus, and can also be constructed to have a reduced size and compact structure.

    • The present invention relates to a dual mode signal processing apparatus using a picture-in-picture (PIP) window. In particular, the present invention relates to a display apparatus and a function switching apparatus that display two views for DSPs performing different functions in use of a PIP window so that two functions are simultaneously performed. In order to achieve the such an object, embodiments of the present invention comprise at least one or more digital signal processors (DSPs) for processing different signals; a picture-in-picture(PIP) block for inputting a composite image signal, a chrominance signal, and so on, mixing two signals, and outputting one composite signal; a first signal switching unit for selecting an input of signals of the plural DSPs and outputting the selected signal to the PIP block; a second signal switching unit for selecting a composite image signal outputted from the DSPs and outputting the selected composite image signal to the PIP block; and a display unit for inputting and displaying an output signal of the PIP block. The embodiments further employ an input unit having a mode selection button and PIP-related function buttons; and a control unit for switching signals with an input of the input unit and controlling a system. Accordingly, embodiments of the present invention convert the function of the system by changes of the main view and the PIP window in the mixed display from two mixed image signals, and enables the same functions to operate with one button selection, to thereby perform combined functions with simplicity.

    • An apparatus in an automatic sheet feeder for a printer, a copy machine, or the like that prevents a corner of a sheet of feed paper from being turned down or "dog-eared" when that sheet of feed paper is being advanced from a stack of the feed paper. The apparatus includes a resilient finger engaging the forward edge of the sheet of feed paper. The resilient finger deflects slightly when the sheet of feed paper is urged forward such that the corner of the sheet of feed paper advances past the finger without folding or becoming dog-eared and the sheet of feed paper is separated from the stack of paper. In a preferred embodiment, the resilient finger is pivotally secured to a cassette for holding the stack of paper, and the finger is biased to engage the top most sheet of the stack of feed paper.
