In one embodiment, a method of controlling a display device is disclosed, wherein the display device presents a graphical representation of a control interface, displays a machine readable graphical element to initiate a temporary connection between the display device and a peripheral device, identifies detection of the machine readable graphical element by the peripheral device, hosts a connection interface for control of the display device by the peripheral device, receives from the peripheral device through the connection interface, and updates a presentation format of the control interface to include the content.

摘要： A method for controlling display device operation including: monitoring usage of a display device with respect to content selections of a control interface; presenting the control interface including: a primary display region having a first plurality of graphical elements selected based on content selections for a selected tab element, and a secondary display area including a plurality of horizontal navigation bars, the plurality of horizontal navigation bars being arranged in a listing order based on contextual relevance and including respective second pluralities of graphical elements; detecting a selection of a graphical element of the first and second pluralities of graphical elements; and updating, in response to the detecting, the presentation of the control interface by: updating the first plurality of graphical elements of the primary display region, and updating the listing order and second pluralities of graphical elements of the plurality of horizontal navigation bars.

In one embodiment, a method for control of a digital television includes detecting a first command for presentation of a control interface for the digital television, and presenting the control interface, wherein the control interface is presented to include an expanded tab element configured to provide a plurality of selectable elements associated with a category of the expanded tab element, and a plurality of tab elements configured in a horizontal bar configuration on a display of the digital television, the expanded tab element presented within the horizontal bar. The method also includes detecting a command for the control interface to select one of the plurality of tab elements, and updating presentation of the control interface in response to the second command, wherein the digital television presents a selected tab element with expanded configuration and provides a plurality of graphical elements.

The navigation bar may be presented to include one or more selectable elements and wherein the navigation bar includes a plurality of swipe zones. The method also includes detecting an input command relative to a display of the device, wherein the input command is a swipe command relative to one of the plurality of swipe areas of the navigation bar, and determining a navigation bar command based on identification of a swipe area of the input command and a swipe length of the input command. Presentation of the navigation bar may be updated based on the navigation bar command. Another embodiment is directed to a device configured to control operation based on navigation bar commands.

In one embodiment, a method for display device operation includes detecting a command for presentation of a control interface, and presenting a control interface according to a spatial arrangement model. The control interface is presented to include a graphical presentation of a launcher component for selection and presentation of content, a graphical presentation of a dashboard component to present a personalized interface based on a user profile, and a graphical presentation of an activity strip to present a plurality of tile elements for selected content. The method includes detecting a command for navigation relative to the control interface, and updating presentation of the control interface to present an intermediate display format for the control interface. The launcher, dashboard and activity strip are accessible for selection during the intermediate display format.
