摘要： Provided is an apparatus for guaranteeing the performance of Ethernet packets in an Ethernet system. A packet sorting unit receives the Ethernet packets, processes header information of the Ethernet packets, and sorts the Ethernet packets. A packet processing unit stores the Ethernet packets, calculates the number of the Ethernet packets, and outputs the Ethernet packets. A packet to synchronous digital hierarchy frame converting unit receives the Ethernet packets output from the packet processing unit, converts the received Ethernet packets into synchronous digital hierarchy frames, calculates the number of the converted frames, maps the frames to a virtual container group, and outputs the virtual container group. And a signal processing unit measures the performance of the Ethernet packets on the basis of the number of the Ethernet packets stored in the packet processing unit and the number of the frames, and outputs the first and second control signals.

摘要： An apparatus for and a method of integrating switching and transferring of synchronous optical network/synchronous digital hierarchy (SONET/SDH), plesiochronous digital hierarchy (PDH), and Ethernet signals, which integrate and provide connection of synchronous digital (SONET/SDH) signals, plesiochronous digital (PDH) signals, and Ethernet signals, mutually change the synchronous digital (SONET/SDH) signals, the plesiochronous digital (PDH) signals, and the Ethernet signals, packet switching, synchronous timeslot switching, and channel configuration management and control functions in one system. Thus, packet switching capacity, timeslot switching capacity, and packet/timeslot bridging capacity can be enlarged and configured according to corresponding application. Also, a distinctive service compared to a service provided by a separate Ethernet device or a SONET/SDH network device can be provided through a packet/timeslot bridge. In addition, varied and reliable communication service at a moderate price can be provided to service users, and decreased investment and maintenance fee can be provided to carrier service providers.

摘要： Provided is a method of detecting a packet error of a return link performed in a satellite communication apparatus receiving a packet through the return link. The method includes generating a first return link packet combination by assembling at least one fragmented packet received through the return link, and determining an error of the packet using at least one piece of information among fragmentation information on at least one second return link packet received after the first return link packet combination is generated, whether or not the first return link packet combination is complete, and packet process state information. Accordingly, it is possible to minimize packet loss caused by a reassembly error of a received packet.

摘要： Disclosed is an optical switching system with a combined space and wavelength division multiplex based on the repeated contention technique. The present invention has effects on high capacity in required in the optical switch module, by performing the contention resolution over a two consecutive cell time slot which repeatedly employs the present and previous state information. According to the present invention, the input cells make use of a switching opportunity two times. As a result, the present invention maintains the desired probability of cell loss, keeping up the state values L small. Also, the present invention can decrease the number of filters because it is possible to decrease the number of wavelength used for the wavelength conversion. Furthermore, the present invention has an effect on the high capacity based on the extension of the optical switch modules.
