摘要： A substrate with a multi-domain vertical alignment pixel structure is provided. The substrate is opposite to a counter substrate with a common electrode, and a liquid crystal layer is disposed between the substrate and the counter substrate. The substrate includes a scan line and a data line, an active device, first and second patterned pixel electrodes and a voltage drop layer. Wherein, the first patterned pixel electrode provides a first electrical field to the liquid crystal layer, and the second patterned pixel electrode provides a second electrical field to the liquid crystal layer. The voltage drop layer makes the first electrical field smaller than the second electrical field.

摘要： A multi-domain LCD panel includes data lines, scan lines and pixels. Each pixel includes first and second sub-pixels respectively having first and second storage capacitors. A first data switch is selectively coupled to a first terminal of the first capacitor and one of the data lines. A second data switch is selectively coupled to a first terminal of the second capacitor and one of the data lines. First and second bias lines are respectively coupled to second terminals of the first and second capacitors. When a corresponding scan line is enabled, the first and second data switches turn on such that a signal on the data line is transmitted to the first and second sub-pixels. After the scan line is disabled, levels of the first and second bias lines are changed such that pixel voltages of the first and second sub-pixels differ from each other.

The first substrate has a common electrode layer which has a first common area and a second common area. The second substrate has a plurality of data lines, a plurality of scan lines, a plurality of signal lines and a pixel electrode layer. The data lines and the scan lines are disposed in array and around the pixels. The signal lines traverse the pixels, respectively. For each of the pixels, the pixel electrode layer overlaps the data line and/or the scan line, and is divided into a first pixel area and a second pixel area by the signal line. The first common area is disposed corresponding to the second pixel area. The first pixel area has a first slit pattern. At least one of the first common area and the second pixel area has a second slit pattern which differs from the first slit pattern in geometry.
