    • A medium cassette includes a slidable cassette pull-out part and is capable of being lengthened and shortened, and a medium tray has a first pull-out part slidably provided to a tray base, the medium tray can be lengthened and shortened, and the medium tray is detachably provided to the top of the medium cassette.     • A printing apparatus includes a printing medium support unit that supports and guides a printing medium supplied to a print execution area. The printing medium support unit includes a support portion supporting the printing medium defines a predetermined gap with a print head. A suction groove is formed concavely on a support surface of the support portion. A suction opening in the suction groove communicates with a suction source. A movable adsorption portion in the suction groove has a suction hole. Before the printing medium is supplied, the movable adsorption portion is located at an upper limit position higher than a support height of the support portion. When the printing medium is supplied, the suction hole is blocked by the printing medium, creating negative pressure, and thus the movable adsorption portion is moved to a lower limit position no higher than the support height of the support portion.

    • A printing apparatus includes a printing medium support unit supporting a printing medium supplied to a print execution area and guiding the transported printing medium. A first communication passage applies some of the suction force to the first recess portion in a passage independent from the ink discharge port.

    • A liquid ejecting head has a head face on which nozzles adapted to eject liquid toward a first face of a target medium are arranged. The liquid ejecting head is adapted to move in a first direction. A conveyance guide member is adapted to support a second face of the target medium so that a distance between the head face and the first face of the target medium is made to be a prescribed value. The conveyance guide member includes a plurality of ribs arrayed in the first direction at a fixed pitch and extending in a second direction perpendicular to the first direction. A medium conveyer is adapted to convey the target medium in a second direction while causing the second face of the target medium to be abutted against the conveyance guide member. A controller is operable to cause the liquid ejecting head to complete liquid ejection toward a leading end portion of the target medium while the leading end portion is located at a region in which an abutment force generated by the medium conveyer becomes maximum.
