    • A capacitive touch panel includes a scanning circuit portion for inputting a drive voltage to each scanning electrode sequentially in 1st to n-th sub detection periods, a capacitance detection circuit portion for detecting a capacitance detection signal of the each detecting electrode in the 1st to n-th groups, and a control circuit portion for calculating a capacitance detection signal change amount from the capacitance detection signals of a plurality of the detecting electrodes detected by the capacitance detection circuit portion, and calculating coordinates of a touch position based on the capacitance detection signal change amounts. The control circuit portion determines, in consecutive sub detection periods, the capacitance detection signal change amount of the each detecting electrode in two groups from which the capacitance detection signals are detected in the consecutive sub detection periods, based on the capacitance detection signals consecutively detected from at least one same detecting electrode.

    • Provided is a display device equipped with a touch panel, including a front panel arranged above a capacitive touch panel at a predetermined distance away therefrom, in which the touch panel includes a plurality of X electrodes and a plurality of Y electrodes, and the X electrodes are sequentially applied with pulse signals and the Y electrodes receive the pulse signals. When an arbitrary point on the front panel is touched, the touch panel computes a touched point on the touch panel by using both the received pulse signals obtained from the Y electrodes in a case where the front panel is not deformed and the received pulse signals obtained from the Y electrodes in a case where the front panel is deformed. With this, an erroneous operation in which a measurement value is lowered to finally disappear is prevented.

    • Provided is a touch panel which completes touch detection within a specified time even when the maximum number of touch points is set to be large. A control portion assigns priorities for being given a high coordinate precision to the respective touch points based on the state of the touch points. The control portion selects coordinate calculation algorithms having coordinate precisions corresponding to the priorities of the respective touch points from among a plurality of coordinate calculation algorithms, and calculates required calculation time for calculating coordinates of all the touch points. The control portion determines the priorities so that the calculated required calculation time is equal to or shorter than a specified time. The control portion selects coordinate calculation algorithms corresponding to the priorities and calculates the coordinates of the respective touch points.
