    • Various embodiments relate generally to electrical and electronic hardware, computer software, wired and wireless network communications, and wearable computing and audio devices for monitoring and managing health and wellness. More specifically, disclosed are methods, interfaces, and computer-readable media to generate predictive consumable recommendations and indicators to determine nutrient density of health-promoting nutrients in consumables, such as food, drink, supplements, and the like. In one or more embodiments, a flow includes identifying nutritional content of one or more consumables, selecting a first element of the one or more consumables, identifying the first element as a first nutrient, and identifying a second element of the one or more consumables. Further, the flow includes characterizing an association between the first nutrient and the second element, and determining an indicator indicative of a nutrient density of at least the first element included in the one or more consumables. In one example, the indicator includes a food score.

    • Techniques for dynamic computation of distance of travel on wearable devices are described. Disclosed are techniques for determining a number of motion units over a distance for one or more samples, determining a motion unit length of each sample, and creating a model determining a motion unit length as a function of a number of motion units and a duration of the motion units. Further disclosed are techniques for receiving motion data of a user from one or more sensors coupled to the wearable device, accessing the model to determine a motion unit length of the user, and determining a distance of travel of the user, and initiating execution of an operation of the wearable device based on the distance of travel of the user. In one embodiment, the model may be adjusted or calibrated. In another embodiment, the determination of the distance of travel may be verified or corrected.

    • General health and wellness management techniques and devices are configured for use with a data-capable personal worn or carried device. In one embodiment, a method receiving data representing a profile upon which a target score is established based on one or more health-related activities, and acquiring data representing one or more subsets of acquired parameters based on, for example, one or more sensors disposed in a wearable computing device. The method can include determining data representing values for the one or more subsets of the acquired parameters based on reference values for the parameters set forth in the profile and calculating at a first processor a score based on data representing the values. The score represents an attained portion of the one or more health-related activities. In some cases, the method includes causing presentation of a representation of the score relative to the target score.
