    • Embodiments disclosed herein provide systems and methods for registering media content with a CDN for transfer at a later time. In a particular embodiment, a method of operating a wireless communication device to deliver media content to a plurality of user devices over a Content Distribution Network (CDN) is provided. The method comprises transferring an upload registration request to the CDN that indicates the wireless communication device and an upload time. The method further comprises receiving an upload confirmation transferred from the CDN confirming the upload registration request and powering down after receiving the upload confirmation. The method further comprises powering up and obtaining the media content. After powering up and during the upload time, the method comprises transferring the media content for delivery to the CDN based on the upload confirmation, wherein the CDN subsequently transfers the media content to the user devices.

    • A media service controller controls how one or more base stations transmit media content from one or more media servers to mobile stations. The media service controller may control whether a mobile station receives media content via a unicast or a multicast connection, e.g., based on a predefined schedule and/or on whether other mobile stations served by the same base station are receiving the same media content. The media service controller may provide a content discovery service through which a first media server may determine whether other media servers are providing the same media content. The media service controller may facilitate changing a source of media content received by a mobile station, e.g., by changing the source from a first media server to a second media server when the mobile station moves from an area associated with the first media server to an area associated with the second media server.

    • A universal receptacle facilitates improved connectivity between electronic devices through plug-type connectors within a range of form factors. In one aspect, the receptacle includes an elongate, open ended chamber, a series of conductive terminals disposed in the chamber, urging structure for urging the conductive terminals inwardly towards a longitudinal axis of the chamber, and a series of conductive lines electrically coupled with the conductive terminals. The conductive terminals may be located within the chamber such that the urging structure places the terminals in physical contact with the plug-type connector when the connector possesses a diameter that is less than the diameter of the chamber. In this way, the particular degree of displacement of the terminals varies depending on the form factor or diameter of a particular region of the connector, while electronic signal pathways are maintained between the conductive terminals of the receptacle and conductive contacts of the connector.
