摘要： The present invention is intended to automatically construct a database of contents data which are distributed over plural reproducing apparatuses and search this database on the basis of user's fragmentary memory. A contents sharing management system practiced as one embodiment of the invention comprises an episode server installed at user's home and plural reproducing apparatuses including a component stereo set, portable player, portable wireless terminal, and MD player, which are interconnected in a wireless manner based on wireless communication technologies such as Bluetooth. The episode server wirelessly connects to the portable player for example to get the episode information stored therein and organizes the retrieved episode information into a database. The episode server also searches the database upon request from the portable player to identify a source apparatus in which desired contents data are stored and supplies the retrieved contents data to the requesting portable player.

摘要： The present invention relates to an information processing apparatus, an information processing method, a program, and a storage medium, capable of identifying emotion/state of a user from undefined information such as vital sign information by using an information processing apparatus. Pulse information and body motion information of a user are acquired via an input unit 91. A feature extractor 112 generates feature vectors associated with pulse information and body motion information. A learning unit 94 identifies the emotion/state of the user by comparing the generated feature vectors with feature vectors accumulated in a storage unit 95. Information indicating the resultant identified emotion/state of the user is output to an output unit 92 via an output controller 114. The generated feature vectors are added to the existing feature vectors accumulated in the storage unit 95, and the distribution, the center of the distribution, and the standard deviation are recalculated for all feature vectors including the newly added ones. The result is stored in the storage unit 95.

摘要： Characteristic features of images of an object eye are extracted to enable non-contact detection of eye movement. Two images of the eye are focused, and a differential image is generated to eliminate background noise and to permit feature extraction to be performed. In one feature of the invention, the illuminating light is polarized for use as a reference and the reflected light is separated to two light paths, each of which is focused to form an image of the object. In one path a polarizing plate blocks the regularly reflected light from the cornea so that only a diffused reflection component of the illuminating light from the other parts of the eye is passed, while in the other path both the regularly and diffusedly reflected light components are passed. A resulting differential image emphasizes the regular reflection component from the cornea relative to the background. In another aspect of the invention, two light sources are placed at different positions relative to the optical axis, to provide bright and dark images of the pupil without otherwise affecting the reflected image. A resulting differential image emphasizes the pupil relative to background noise.
