    • A method and apparatus for routing packets from a home agent to a user equipment through a first access network and a second access network. The method includes sending a first binding update message from the user equipment over the first access network to create a first binding cache entry at the home agent. The user equipment uses a home address assigned to the user equipment as a source IP address of the first binding update message. The method further includes sending a second binding update message from the user equipment over the second access network to create a second binding cache entry at the home agent. The user equipment receives packets from the home agent through the first access network and the second access network based on the first binding cache entry and the second binding cache entry.

    • A method includes, in response to a wireless terminal, transmitting a first binding update from an attachment point of the wireless terminal to a home agent. The method further includes selectively generating a trigger signal in response to the first binding update, and providing the trigger signal from the home agent to a proxy mobility agent. The method further includes, in response to the trigger signal, transmitting a second binding update to a home anchoring point, selecting an IP address, and transmitting a first binding acknowledgement including the IP address from the home anchoring point to the proxy mobility agent. The method further includes forwarding the IP address from the proxy mobility agent to the home agent and transmitting a second binding acknowledgement including the IP address to the attachment point. The method further includes assigning, by the attachment point, the IP address to the wireless terminal.

    • A mobile communication terminal includes a registration module that initiates a registration of the mobile communication terminal with Internet protocol (IP) multimedia subsystems (IMS) within a home network. The registration module initiates registration when the mobile communication terminal is roaming in a visited network. The mobile communication terminal also includes a session module that initiates a session set-up with the IMS to enable use of IMS resources. At least one of the registration module and the session module provide a first IP address to the IMS during at least one of the registration and the session set-up. The mobile communication terminal communicates with a first packet data network (PDN) that is local to the visited network using the first IP address in order to use at least one of the IMS resources.

    • A system including a first home agent and a proxy mobility agent. The first home agent receives a first binding update message from an attachment point configured to communicate with a wireless terminal, and generates a trigger signal in response to receiving the first binding update message. In response to receiving the trigger signal from the first home agent, the proxy mobility agent transmits a second binding update message to a second home agent; receives, in response to transmitting the second binding update message, a first binding acknowledgement message from the second home agent including an internet protocol (IP) address assigned to the wireless terminal by the second home agent; and forwards the IP address from the first binding acknowledgement message to the first home agent. The first home agent transmits a second binding acknowledgement message to the attachment point including the IP address assigned to the wireless terminal.

    • A networking device includes a tunneling module, a mobility agent module, and a wireless network interface that establishes a wireless link with a wireless client terminal. The tunneling module establishes first and second tunnels with first and second local mobility anchors, respectively. The first and second local mobility anchors are associated with first and second packet data networks, respectively. The mobility agent module stores a mapping of a plurality of addresses respectively assigned to local mobility anchors. The mapping maps a first address to the first local mobility anchor and a second address to the second local mobility anchor. In response to receiving a first packet from the wireless client terminal, the mobility agent module identifies, based on a source address of the first packet, a selected local mobility anchor from the mapping. The tunneling module tunnels the first packet from the networking device to the selected local mobility anchor.

    • A wireless client terminal includes an application module, a service mapping module, and an address determination module. The application module determines first and second services requested by applications. The service mapping module stores a table that maps services to access point names. Each access point name identifies a respective packet data network. The address determination module transmits an address request message, including access point names corresponding to the services, to a media access gateway and receives an address response message. The address determination module determines first and second addresses based on address information in the address response message. The application module transmits a first packet to the media access gateway. The source address of the first packet is set to the first address when the first packet is related to the first service and to the second address when the first packet is related to the second service.
