摘要： An implantable medical device is configured determine a numerical value of a variable that is monitored by the implantable medical device and convert the numerical value to a data sequence of modulated electrical stimulation rate intervals. The implantable medical device delivers electrical stimulation pulses according to the data sequence of modulated stimulation rate intervals to cause a modulated rate of activation of excitable tissue of a patient corresponding to the modulated stimulation rate intervals. The modulated rate of activation is detectable by a rate monitor for demodulation to the numerical value of the monitored variable data value. In some examples, the implantable medical device is a pacemaker delivering cardiac pacing pulses according to modulated pacing rate intervals to cause a modulated heart rate of the patient detectable by a heart rate monitor for demodulation to the numerical value of the monitored variable.

摘要： A medical device performs a method for computing an estimate of a physiological variable. The method includes sensing a physiological signal and measuring an event of the physiological signal. The device initializes a value of a long-term metric of the event measurement, wherein the long-term metric corresponds to a time interval correlated to a response time of the physiological variable to changes in the event. The estimate of the long-term metric is updated in a memory of the medical device using a previous long-term metric and a current measurement of the event. The device detects a need for computing the physiological variable and computes an estimate of the physiological variable using the updated long-term metric.

The pacemaker is configured to confirm a hemodynamically unstable rhythm based on an activity metric determined from an activity sensor signal after detecting a ventricular tachyarrhythmia and withhold anti-tachycardia pacing (ATP) pulses in response to confirming the hemodynamically unstable rhythm. The pacemaker may deliver ATP when a hemodynamically unstable rhythm is not confirmed based on the activity metric. The ICD is configured to detect the ATP and withhold a shock therapy in response to detecting the ATP in some examples.
