摘要： Disclosed herein are embodiments for an audio responsive electronic device. The audio responsive electronic device includes a data storage having stored therein an intent queue. Intents are stored in the intent queue. The audio responsive electronic device operates by receiving an indication that a user pressed the play/stop button. The audio responsive electronic device retrieves from the intent queue an intent last stored in the queue, wherein the retrieved intent is associated with content previously paused. The audio responsive electronic device also retrieves from the intent queue state information associated with the paused content, and then causes content to be played based on at least the paused content and the state information. In some embodiments, the audio responsive electronic device receives an indication that a user selected tell me something functionality. In response, the audio responsive electronic device determines an identity of the user, determines a location of the identified user, and accesses information relating to the identified user. Based on this information, the audio responsive electronic device retrieves a topic from a topic database, and customizes the retrieved topic for the identified user. Then, the audio responsive electronic device audibly provides the customized topic to the identified user.

摘要： Intelligently downloading content to user devices is described herein. According to an embodiment, a user request for content is received. In response to the request, a low quality version of the content is downloaded and played to the user. Then, a higher quality version of the content is downloaded (this may occur during or after the download or playback of the low quality version of the content). Playback of the low quality version is discontinued. Then, playback of the higher quality version begins at the point where playback of the low quality version was discontinued. In some embodiments, the low quality version and the higher quality version of the requested content (among all the versions of the requested content) are identified via crowdsourcing.

摘要： Provided herein are various embodiments for synchronizing playback of audio and video. An embodiment operates by determining that a first quality video is being received at a media device. It is determined that a buffer of the media device is not large enough to buffer the first quality video long enough to synchronize an output of the high quality video with the output of the audio by one or more wireless speakers. A second quality of the video that the buffer can hold long enough to synchronize is identified, wherein the second quality of the video is lower than the first quality of the video. The media device outputs the video at the second quality and the corresponding audio to the one or more wireless speakers.

In a non-limiting embodiment, a method operates by receiving an interaction by a user of the remote control, wherein the interaction relates to a biometric of the user. An identity of the user is determined based on the interaction. Information associated with the determined user identity is accessed. Then, the user interface on the remote control is customized based on the accessed information. The biometric may be, for example, associated with a finger size of the user, or associated with motions made by the user with the remote control in forming the interaction. In an embodiment, the user identity is verified by comparing a date/time of the interaction with viewing history of the user, and/or by comparing the date/time of the interaction with a schedule of the user.
