摘要： The present invention provides an image forming apparatus including: a first moving member pressed and moved by an openable/closable member when the openable/closable member is opened, and switching a cartridge from a state where the cartridge is positioned in an image forming position to a state where the positioning is released; and a second moving member pressed and moved by the openable/closable member when the openable/closable member is opened, and moving the exposure member from an exposure position to a retracted position, wherein when the positioning of the cartridge is released, a reaction force applied from the first moving member to the openable/closable member reaches a first peak, when the exposure member is moved to the retracted position, a reaction force applied from the second moving member to the openable/closable member reaches a second peak, and timing of the first peak is different from timing of the second peak.

摘要： An image forming apparatus includes a first moving member pressed and moved by an openable/closable member when the member is opened. A cartridge is switched from being positioned in an image forming position to a state where the positioning is released. A second moving member is pressed and moved by the openable/closable member when the member is opened, and the exposure member is moved from an exposure position to a retracted position. When the cartridge is released, a reaction force applied from the first moving member to the openable/closable member reaches a first peak. When the exposure member is moved to the retracted position, a reaction force applied from the second moving member to the openable/closable member reaches a second peak. Timing of the first peak is different from timing of the second peak.

摘要： A color electrophotographic image forming apparatus includes a plurality of electrophotographic photosensitive drums configured to develop images, an intermediary transfer member onto which developed images are transferred, and an image forming unit having a plurality of cartridge mounting portions for demountably mounting cartridges. The image forming unit is movable between a transfer position for transferring, onto the recording material, the developed images transferred onto the intermediary transfer member, and a mounting and demounting position for mounting and demounting the cartridges relative to the cartridge mounting portions. An opening permits mounting and demounting of the cartridges relative to the cartridge mounting portions of the image forming unit placed in the mounting and demounting position, and a locking member releasably locks the image forming unit which is moved to the mounting and demounting position.
