    • A method for conveying a fluid under high pressure includes a first conduit including an outer diameter provided with a surface of a selectable property of flatness, roughness, irregularity or threaded, a second conduit having an inside diameter complemental to the outer diameter to the first conduit. The fitting method further includes a circumferential sealing element for coupling the second conduit to the first conduit after the first conduit is inserted past a smooth circular interior entrance of the second conduit. The first conduit is advanced within the second conduit to the internal threads which engage the selectable properties of the input of the surface of the first conduit. The diameter of the sealing element typically exceeds the outside diameter of the first conduit by a range of 5% to 50%.

    • An extendable misting apparatus includes a housing having a recess surrounded by a radial flange at one end, and a hydraulic fitting at an opposite end, the recess defined in part by a bearing block. A hollow piston rod is mounted for axial reciprocating movement in the housing between retracted and extended positions, the piston rod passing through the bearing block and having a misting head fixed to one end thereof and adapted to be received in the recess when the hollow piston is in the retracted position. At least one misting nozzle is mounted in the misting head and in fluid communication with the hollow piston rod and the hydraulic fitting. A spring is located in a chamber defined by the piston and the bearing block, normally biasing the piston rod to the retracted position.

    • Misting apparatus includes a housing defined by a bottom wall, a top wall, a pair of side walls and a pair of end wall assemblies; a plenum chamber within the housing; a fan mounted in one of the end wall assemblies for supplying air flow to the plenum chamber; at least one misting nozzle located proximate to an outlet side of the fan to thereby supply droplets of water into the air flow, and a moisture eliminator mounted in the other of the end wall assemblies. The moisture eliminator is shaped to remove unevaporated water droplets from the cooled air before the air exits the plenum chamber. A method of supplying cooling air to a space includes the steps of a) adding water droplets to a flow of air to thereby generate a flow of cooled air; b) removing unevaporated water droplets from the cooled air; and c) delivering the cooled air to the space.

    • In a valve for placement within a fluid conduit, the valve including a generally spherical element in fluid-tight relation to an interior diameter of the valve, a fluid flow existing through a bore of the spherical element integral handle projecting externally slightly past a slot and an outer housing of the valve. An extent of fluid flow through the valve bore changeable by rotation of the projecting handle and the spherical element. The adapter is defined by a solid body having a longitudinal axis, an inner axial base complemental with the projecting handle of the spherical element and, at an opposite base, an outer surface engagable by a complemental extension of a ratchet wrench. The ratchet wrench may effect a full or partial opening or closure of the valve by respective incremental reciprocations, either forwardly or backwardly, of the projecting handle of the spherical element.
