摘要： A liquid discharge device includes a liquid discharge head that includes a nozzle from which liquid is discharged and a liquid channel communicating with the nozzle, and that discharges liquid from the nozzle. The nozzle has an inner wall surface having an uneven pattern including a recess where the inner diameter of the nozzle is increased and a projection where the inner diameter of the nozzle is smaller than that in the recess. In a case where ink is continuously discharged from an identical nozzle, at a time when a meniscus in the nozzle after previous discharge is located closer to an initial position before discharge than a center position between the initial position and a position at which the meniscus is most greatly drawn toward the liquid channel, subsequent discharge is performed.

Since a cylindrical thick part is formed at the lower end of the lower case member, the lower case member is unlikely to be bent, particularly around the wall-shaped enclosure and a part where the wall-shaped enclosure is disposed. The head chip that is disposed in the space of the lower case member which is unlikely to be bent is unlikely to be subjected to an external force, and the cover member absorbs torsion generated between the head chip and the lower case member so that the head chip is even more unlikely to be subjected to the external force.

摘要： A unit head has an inlet section that introduces ink from a side of a sub-tank through a porous member. The sub-tank has a pressure control section corresponding to each unit head, individually, and has an outlet section that delivers the ink from the pressure control section through a porous member. The pressure control section has a valve and a film that is displaced in response to a pressure change. The film is provided in an upper surface of the sub-tank. A frame has an inlet-side connection section to which the outlet section of the sub-tank is connected, an outlet-side connection section to which the inlet section of the unit head is connected, and a communication flow path that communicates with both connection sections. Both of the connection sections include porous members, and supply and receive the ink by a surface contact of the porous members with each other.

The first opening extends in a direction perpendicular to an arrangement direction of the pressure chambers. The first opening has a narrowed portion close to the communication hole. The communication hole has at least three edge lines which extend in a penetration direction. The communication plate is bonded to the substrate such that the ends of the edge lines at a surface close to the substrate are covered with the substrate that defines the narrowed portion on a surface close to the communication plate.

M (M is a natural number) liquid ejecting heads are attachable to each holding member in the main scanning direction. N (M>N (N is a natural number)) liquid ejecting heads, which discharge liquid, among the M liquid ejecting heads are arranged so as to be close to a center side of an entire width of the head units in the main scanning direction.
