摘要： Systems and methods relating to transmit power control are disclosed. In some embodiments, a method of operation of a radio access node for providing transmit power control commands to a wireless device for uplink (UL) transmission on a cell that operates in an unlicensed frequency spectrum is provided. The method comprises indicating, for the cell that operates in the unlicensed frequency spectrum, a dynamic Transmit Power Control (TPC) command using a downlink (DL) control channel which indicates a DL-UL allocation of upcoming subframes in the cell that operates in the unlicensed frequency spectrum. In some embodiments, the DL control channel is a common DL control channel. In some other embodiments, the DL channel is a common Physical Downlink Control Channel (PDCCH).

摘要： Techniques for supporting both localized and frequency-distributed control channel messages in the same enhanced control channel region are disclosed. An example method begins with receiving (2010) a downlink signal comprising an enhanced control region consisting of at least two sets of physical resource block (PRB) pairs. The method continues with the forming (2020) of one or more distributed enhanced control-channel elements (eCCEs) from a first set of PRB pairs by aggregating physical layer building blocks from multiple PRB pairs to form each distributed eCCE. One or more localized eCCEs are formed (2030) from a second set of PRB pairs by aggregating physical layer building blocks such that each of the localized eCCEs is formed from physical layer building blocks from within a single PRB pair of the second set. Control channel message candidates are formed (2050) from the distributed eCCEs and localized eCCEs, respectively, and decoded (2060).

The base station (20A) identifies, from a set of transmission resources that is nominally allocated for transmission of user data upon the first carrier (22), a subset of transmission resources that is also nominally allocated for transmission of a reference or control signal either by the base station (20A) upon a second carrier (24) or by a neighboring base station (20B) upon the first carrier (22). The base station (20A) selectively transmits user data to the wireless device (16A) upon the first carrier (22) exclusive of this identified subset of transmission resources. The device (16A) in some embodiments obtains information indicating that the base station (20A) is selectively transmitting user data upon the first carrier (22) exclusive of the subset in this way. Based on this information, the device (16A) recovers user data received upon the first carrier (22) exclusive of the subset of transmission resources.

In one embodiment, a method of operation of a wireless device includes receiving a carrier signal transmitted by a radio access node and detecting, in the carrier signal, a first physical signal that primarily supports synchronization and cell identification and a second physical signal that supports a functionality other than synchronization and cell identification. A time-domain spacing between the first and second physical signals is a function of a characteristic of the carrier signal. The method further includes determining a characteristic of the carrier signal based on a time-domain spacing between the first and second physical signals detected in the carrier signal.

In some embodiments, a method of operation of a synchronizing base station comprises selecting a first base station for frequency synchronization and a second base station for time synchronization, where the second base station can be different than the first base station selected for frequency synchronization. The method further comprises performing frequency synchronization using a signal transmitted from a radio interface of the first base station and performing time synchronization using a signal transmitted from a radio interface of the second base station. In this manner, the synchronizing base station is enabled to independently select the first and second base stations used for frequency and time synchronization, respectively.

The memory stores information to be transmitted in a subset of sub frames to a UE. The information includes transmission mode configuration information. The processor operates to configure the transmitter according to a selected transmission mode configuration that includes one of a transmit diversity mode and a MIMO mode, and configures the transmitter to transmit discontinuously and include CRS in only a subset of sub frames.
