    • A voice coil motor includes a base, a shell, first and second magnetic members, a lens retainer, a coil of wire mounted on the retainer, first and second elastic members. The base includes a bottom and posts extending upwards from the bottom. The shell includes a top and sidewalls cooperatively defining a receiving space therein. The shell is mounted on the base with the posts being received in the receiving space. The first magnetic members are positioned on the bottom of the base, the second magnetic members are positioned on the top of the shell, and each two adjacent of the posts have one of the first magnetic members and one of the second magnetic members located therebetween. The first resilient member and a second resilient member each include fixing portions fixed to the posts, and a spring portion connected to retainer between the first and second magnetic members.

    • A camera includes a lens module, an image sensor, and a shutter module. The centers of the image sensor and the shutter module are on an optical axis of the lens module. The shutter module includes a frame and an electroactive telescopic unit having a first electroactive polymer layer, two compliant electrode layers, and two second electroactive polymer layers. The center of the electroactive telescopic unit has a through hole through the first electroactive polymer layer, the two compliant electrode layers, and the two second electroactive polymer layers. A central axis of the through hole and the optic axis of the lens module are coaxial. The electroactive telescopic unit is contractible or expandable along a direction perpendicularly to the optic axis of the lens module in response to a change in a voltage applied between the two compliant electrode layers.

    • An exemplary image stabilizing camera system includes a camera module. The camera module includes a movable AF unit, a frame having a receiving cavity defined therein, an electromagnetic driving unit, and an elastic member. The receiving cavity is configured for receiving the movable AF unit therein. The electromagnetic driving unit is configured for driving the movable AF unit to move relative to the frame so as to counteract movement of the object relative to the system such that the system can, after a shake of the system, capture a stabilized image of the object which is substantially identical with an image thereof captured without the shake of the system. The elastic member is disposed on a top end of the movable AF unit. The elastic member is configured for connecting the movable AF unit to the frame, thereby suspending the movable AF unit in the receiving cavity.

    • A voice coil motor (VCM) includes a moving unit, a fixing unit, an elastic plate, and a conducting pole. The moving unit includes a moving barrel and a coil assembly around the moving barrel. The coil assembly includes a connecting portion. The moving barrel defines a blind hole on an upper surface thereof, one end of a conducting pole being received in the blind hole. The fixing unit defines a through hole receiving the moving unit. The elastic plate is connected between the moving barrel and the fixing unit. The conducting pole provides a stable electrical connection between the elastic plate and the connecting portion notwithstanding movements of the moving barrel.
