RIV decoding unit (106) decodes start RBG# and end RBG# that are indicated by each RIV output from scheduling information decoding unit (104). Allocation boundary setting unit (107) previously adds a predetermined offset to the boundary of each RIV so that the boundaries of the allocations of respective RIVs are different from each other. Based on the start RBG# and end RBG# output from RIV decoding unit (106) and the boundaries of the allocations of respective RIVs output from allocation boundary setting unit (107), transmission bandwidth determination unit (108) determines, as allocated bandwidths, the bandwidths that are indicated by a plurality of RIVs and are not overlapped with each other.

When control information outputted from a decoding unit (204) contains NACK and retransmission Grant, a retransmission resource check unit (205) determines that the resource indicated by the retransmission Grant is the retransmission resource. Moreover, when no retransmission Grant is detected and the initial transmission is a wideband transmission, the retransmission resource check unit (205) determines that no retransmission resource exists and instructs an RB allocation unit (209) to stop retransmission. Moreover, when no retransmission Grant is detected and the initial transmission is a narrow band transmission, a predetermined resource is determined to be the retransmission resource.

In this terminal apparatus (200): a pilot information deciding unit (204) decides, based on allocation control information, Walsh sequences of the respective ones of first and second stream groups at least one of which includes a plurality of streams; and a pilot signal generating unit (205) forms a transport signal by using the decided Walsh sequences to spread the streams included in the first and second stream groups. A PHR threshold value setter sets a threshold value at a position greater by a predetermined value than the PHR at which the throughput performance of the SC-FDMA coincides with that of the OFDMA. A trigger signal transmission judger judges that a mobile station transmits a trigger signal for switching from the OFDMA to the SC-FDMA if the PHR in the OFDMA communication method is lower than the threshold value.
