    • A digital signal reproducing apparatus includes an analog to digital converter for sampling and quantizing a signal read from an optical recording medium in accordance with a reproduced clock having a frequency which is one-half of a channel bit frequency and outputting an obtained digital RF signal, an offset compensation circuit for reducing an offset component in an amplitude direction from the digital RF signal, and a simplified interpolation filter for reconstructing a signal indicating a predetermined pattern recorded in the optical recording medium from the output signal of the offset compensation circuit and outputting the reconstructed signal. A control operation is performed to reduce the magnitudes of respective values shown by first phase error information on a section with the predetermined pattern and by second phase error information on a section other than the section with the predetermined pattern.

    • In the prior art recording position deviation correction apparatus, it was difficult to obtain the physical address position during performing an additional recording processing. So, a high reliability recording position deviation amount cannot be calculated, and the recording position deviation correction cannot be carried out correctly. The present invention adopts, as a calculating method for calculating the recording position deviation amount in the additional recording processing, one among (1) to perform an interpolation processing on the basis of the physical address position before performing an additional recording processing thereby to detect the physical address during performing the additional recording processing, and calculates the positional deviation amount using the detected physical address position, (2) to calculate the recording position deviation amount on the basis of the position deviation amount before performing the additional recording processing, and (3) to obtain the physical address position in a stationary state by making the laser power to be irradiated constant when obtaining the physical address in the recording processing, and calculate the recording position deviation amount using the obtained physical address position, and thereby realizes a high reliability recording position deviation correction.
