    • A fuser apparatus including: a fuser member having an endless contact surface to be brought into contact with each of successively transported recording media and a non-contact surface and being arranged to apply heat to the recording medium from the contact surface to fix a toner on the recording medium; a heating member energized to supply heat to the contact surface; a contact surface temperature detecting member for detecting a temperature of the contact surface; a non-contact surface temperature detecting member for detecting a temperature of the non-contact surface; and an energization controlling member for controling energization power of the heating member; wherein the energization controlling member controls the heating member energization power so that the heating member energization power is reduced as a difference between the non-contact surface temperature and the contact surface temperature decreases.

    • An image forming apparatus, determining in sorting recording sheets whether or not recording sheet transport interval is shorter than a first predetermined value, sets the longest time settable as a delay time when the interval is longer than the first value. When the interval is shorter than the first value, the apparatus, determining whether or not the interval is shorter than a second predetermined value, sets the shortest delay time settable when the interval is shorter than the second value, and sets a reference delay time when the interval is longer than the second value. The apparatus prevents sheet jam before a sheet eject mechanism by ensuring that the mechanism returns to an initial position before the front end of a following sheet reaches sheet eject rollers after the rear end of a preceding sheet passes through the rollers.

    • The delivered sheet stacking tray has a delivered sheet stacking surface, provided on an upside of an image forming section, which extends in a sheet-transporting direction so that a transporting-direction end of the delivered sheet stacking surface is opened toward a lateral outside of the image forming device body, wherein the delivered sheet stacking surface has a sheet removing concave which extends from (a) the transporting-direction end via (b) a stacking area of a maximum size sheet to (c) a stacking area of a minimum size sheet so that the sheet removing concave is positioned within an area ranging from the stacking area of the maximum size sheet to the stacking area of the minimum size sheet, and the sheet removing concave is formed substantially in parallel to a line linking (i) a corner portion of the stacking area of the maximum size sheet which corner portion is positioned on a downstream side in the transporting direction and on a front side of the image forming device to (ii) a corner portion of the stacking area of the minimum size sheet which corner portion is positioned on the downstream side in the transporting direction and on the front side of the image forming device, thereby realizing a preferable stacking condition of sheets on the delivered sheet stacking surface, and making it easy to remove the sheets.
