摘要： There is provided a base station (BS) (1000) and a method at the BS that is capable of enhancing network capacity with low transmission power in a radio network. The method comprises serving a cell with one or more first carriers. The method further comprises serving a hot-spot within the cell with one or more beam-formed second carriers, wherein the first and second carriers share a total transmission power for serving the cell. Beam-forming based hot-spot carriers can efficiently save transmission power and contribute to the total power utilization efficiency. The base station (1000) thus can meet the capacity enhancement requirement with low transmission power.

摘要： One embodiment of the present disclosure relates to a method for transmitting a random access preamble in a transmitting sub-frame at a terminal device. The method comprises: creating a random access preamble such that it comprises a plurality of random access sequences; dividing the plurality of random access sequences into a number Nc of groups, each of groups including two or more random access sequences; performing code division multiplexing with respect to the groups of the plurality of random access sequences in a frequency domain, based on an orthogonal cover code selected for the terminal device from a pre-defined code set; and transforming signals after the code division multiplexing into the time domain. According to an aspect of the present disclosure, there are provided corresponding methods and devices.

A switching unit (800a) selects a first transmission mode when downlink signal quality in the UE is above a switching threshold (Th), and selects a second transmission mode when the downlink signal quality is below the switching threshold. An obtaining unit (800c) obtains a first performance level when the first transmission mode is used and the downlink signal quality is within a specific vicinity range from the switching threshold, and obtains a second performance level when the second transmission mode is used and the downlink signal quality is within the specific vicinity range. An adjusting unit (800d) then adjusts the switching threshold (Th) based on a deviation between the first performance level and the second performance level. Thereby, the adjusted switching threshold may be more or less optimized and used to achieve the best possible performance under the currently prevailing circumstances regardless of the downlink signal quality.
