    • A method is disclosed for a system comprising a transmitter apparatus and a receiver apparatus. The transmitter apparatus is configured to transmit signals to the receiver apparatus using an available transmission beam. The receiver apparatus is configured to receive the signals using an available reception beam. The method comprises the transmitter apparatus determining a collection of linear combinations of transmission beams and a collection of linear combinations of reception beams, providing an indication of the collection of linear combinations of reception beams to the receiver apparatus and transmitting each of the linear combinations of transmission beams of the collection of linear combinations of transmission beams. The method also comprises the receiver apparatus acquiring the indication of the collection of linear combinations of reception beams from the transmitter apparatus, receiving each of the linear combinations of transmission beams of the collection of linear combinations of transmission beams using each of the linear combinations of reception beams of the collection of linear combinations of reception beams, and performing beam selection measurements on the received linear combinations of transmission beams for selection of the transmission beam from the plurality of available transmission beams and for selection of the reception beam from the plurality of available reception beams. Methods for each of the transmitter apparatus and the receiver apparatus are also disclosed, as well as corresponding apparatuses, network node, wireless communication device, system and computer program product.

    • A method is disclosed for a wireless transceiver comprising a plurality of transceiver antenna elements and configured to operate in a communication network. The method comprises dynamically assigning (from the plurality of transceiver antenna elements) a first set of transceiver antenna elements allocated for channel sensing and a second set of transceiver antenna elements allocated for communication, performing channel sensing using the first set of transceiver antenna elements, and operating the wireless transceiver based on a result of the performed channel sensing.     • A beamforming method is disclosed of a multi-antenna transmitter configured for operation in a listen-before-talk (LBT) environment.
      The method comprises transmitting—in transmission resources of a collection of one or more transmission resources corresponding to an LBT sensing event—according to a primary emission pattern (e.g., a primary beam) having a main lobe in a primary angular direction associated with a channel path towards an intended receiver, and transmitting according to one or more secondary emission patterns. The one or more secondary emission patterns—when accumulated over the collection of transmission resources corresponding to the LBT sensing event—are configured to indicate channel occupancy in angular directions other than the primary angular direction.
      In some embodiments, the one or more secondary emission patterns comprises a plurality of secondary emission patterns (e.g., a plurality of secondary beams). Transmitting according to the one or more secondary emission patterns may comprise executing a sweep of the respective secondary beams over the collection of transmission resources corresponding to the LBT sensing event.
      In some embodiments, the one or more secondary emission patterns consists of a single secondary emission pattern (e.g., an omni-directional emission pattern).
      Corresponding apparatus, transmitter, network node, wireless communication device, and computer program product are also disclosed.
