摘要： Methods are provided to operate an SMF node. A request to create a session for a wireless device is received. A communication establishment request is transmitted to an NEF node responsive to receiving the request to create the session for the wireless device, wherein the communication establishment request includes UPF node information for a tunnel between a UPF node and the NEF node to be used for the session for the wireless device. A communication establishment response is received from the NEF node, wherein the communication establishment response includes NEF node information for the tunnel between the UPF node and the NEF node to be used for the session for the wireless device. A tunnel information update is transmitted to the UPF node after receiving the communication establishment response, wherein the tunnel information update includes the NEF node information for the tunnel between the UPF node and the NEF node.

摘要： A wireless communication device (12) served by a wireless wide area network (WWAN) base station supports per-bearer switching of bearer traffic between the WWAN and a wireless local area network (WLAN) in a manner transparent to the WLAN. The device in this regard establishes a secure tunnel (24) through the WLAN to a security gateway (22), based on the device receiving a message from the WWAN base station (18) to establish the secure tunnel (24). The device switches bearer traffic between the WWAN and the WLAN on a per bearer basis, with bearer traffic switched to the WLAN being transported through the secure tunnel (24) and over a connection (26) between the security gateway (22) and the WWAN base station (18).

摘要： A method to operate a Network Function, Repository Function, NRF, to manage NF profiles of Session Management Functions (SMFs) in a communication system is provided that is configured to communicate with other network functions of the communications system through a network interface. The NRF receives NF profiles for the SMFs, wherein at least some of the NF profiles each include both a SMF identifier and a service area information for a respective one of the SMFs. After receiving the NF profiles, the NRF stores the SMF identifiers and the service area information of the NF profiles in a repository in memory. The NRF may also receive a NF discovery request for discovering SMFs. After receiving the NF discovery request, the NRF may retrieve from the repository at least one of the NF profiles respectively for at least one SMF based on content of the NF discovery request. The NRF communicates a NF discovery response containing the SMF identifier and the service area information of the at least one SMF.
