摘要： The present invention provides polyurethane composition including: (a) at least one polyurethane including a reaction product of components comprising: (i) at least one polyisocyanate; (ii) at least one branched polyol having 4 to 18 carbon atoms and at least 3 hydroxyl groups; and (iii) at least one diol having 2 to 18 carbon atoms; and (b) at least one reinforcement material selected from the group consisting of polymeric inorganic materials, nonpolymeric inorganic materials, polymeric organic materials, nonpolymeric organic materials, composites thereof, and combinations thereof; coatings and articles made therefrom and methods of making the same.

摘要： A polymerizable composition is described, which composition comprises a polyol(allyl carbonate) monomer, e.g., diethylene glycol bis(allyl carbonate) monomer, and an additive represented by the general formula, R2—O&Parenopenst;R3O&Parenclosest;x&Parenopenst;R4O&Parenclosest;y&Parenopenst;R5O&Parenclosest;zR6 wherein R2 and R6 are each selected independently from hydrogen, C1-C20 linear or branched alkyl, cycloalkyl having from 5 to 7 carbon atoms in the cyclic ring, aryl, C2-C20 linear or branched alkanoyl, cycloalkanoyl having from 5 to 7 carbon atoms in the cyclic ring and aroyl, R2 and R6 each being free of radically polymerizable ethylenically unsaturated groups; R3O and R5O are the same or different; R4O is different than each of R3O and R5O; R3O, R4O and R5O are each independently a divalent residue of an epoxide; x and z are each independently a number from 0 to 200, provided that the sum of x and z is greater than zero; and y is a number from 3 to 200. The additive is present in the composition of the present invention in an amount at least sufficient such that a polymerizate of the composition is substantially free of tinting defects, such as ferns and moons.

摘要： A polymerizable composition is described, which composition comprises a major amount of a polyol(allyl carbonate) monomer, e.g., diethylene glycol bis(allyl carbonate) monomer, and a minor amount of a radically polymerizable second monomer represented by the general formula, wherein R2 is a polyvalent linking group that is free of urethane linkages, e.g., R2 may be a residue of a polyisocyanate, such as isophorone diisocyanate; R3 is a residue of a material having a single hydroxy group and at least one allyl group, R3 being free of urethane linkages, e.g., R3 may be a residue of a poly(alkylene glycol) allyl ether, such as poly(1,2-propylene glycol) allyl ether; and j is a number from 2 to 4. The second monomer may also be present in the composition in an amount at least sufficient such that a polymerizate, e.g., a plus ophthalmic lens, obtained from the composition is substantially free of tinting defects, e.g., ferns and/or moons.

The additive is present in the composition in an amount at least sufficient such that a polymerizate, e.g., a plus lens, obtained from said composition is substantially free of tinting defects, e.g., ferns and/or moons.

摘要： The present invention provides a polyureaurethane composition comprising: a) the reaction product of: 1) a polyurethane prepolymer comprising a polyisocyanate and at least one OH-containing material; and 2) an amine-containing curing agent, wherein the equivalent ratio of the amine-containing curing agent of 2) to the polyurethane prepolymer of 1) is from 0.75 to 0.98; b) a hydroxyphenylbenzotriazole present in the polyureaurethane composition in an amount from 0.75 to 1.1 percent, based on the total weight of resin solids in the polyureaurethane composition; and c) a multifunctional hindered phenol type anti-oxidant present in an amount from 0.25 to 1.5 percent, based on the total weight of resin solids in the polyureaurethane composition wherein b) and c) are combined in amounts to provide the polyureaurethane composition with a Δ Yellowness Index of less than 1.85 in the 60/80 Accelerated Warehouse Aging Test.

摘要： The present invention relates to a sulfur-containing polyureaurethane and a method of preparing the polyureaurethane. The sulfur-containing polyureaurethane has a refractive index of at least 1.57, an Abbe number of at least 32 and a density of less than 1.3 grams/cm3 when cured. The sulfur-containing polyureaurethane is prepared by the reaction of: (a) a sulfur-containing, isocyanate functional polyurethane prepolymer derived from: (i) a polyisocyanate; and (ii) a polythiol oligomer produced by the reaction of at least two or more different dienes with one or more dithiols and in certain embodiments at least one trifunctional or higher-functional polythiol; and (b) an amine-containing curing agent.
