    • A method and mobile device (UE) for enabling services in multi-RAT networks which support at least HSPA and LTE, comprising: identifying an initial radio technology on which a UE requesting service is camped, within a current cell; determining an indication of coverage of another radio technology available on the current cell which provides higher speed access than the initial one; deciding carrying the service, either through the initial radio technology or the other one of higher speed access, according to the previous indication. The indication of coverage can be based on any of the following criteria or a combination of them is met: 1) Terminal is camped on a HSDPA capable or LTE capable cell, 2) HSDPA signal strength is higher than a threshold, 3) LTE signal strength is higher than a threshold, 4) Measurements on the Peak Rate of the UE in a past time and in a location.

    • Coordination of the use of radio resource between a first Radio Access Network (RAN) and a second RAN is provided, each RAN being configured to communicate over the same predefined bandwidth range. A first priority associated with traffic to be carried over the first RAN and a second priority associated with traffic to be carried over the second RAN are determined. A first portion of the radio resource comprising one or more first bandwidth segments is assigned to the first RAN and a second portion of the radio resource comprising a plurality of second bandwidth segments is assigned to the second RAN, based on the first and second priorities. The first portion is indicated to a first RAN scheduler and/or the second portion is indicated to a second RAN scheduler. At least one first bandwidth segment is assigned between two of the second bandwidth segments.

    • Method and network entities for providing good performance for voice in multiRAB connection for services of a CS+PS call setup (31) without high throughput necessity but providing good throughput for the services needing it. A differentiation of the multiRAB configuration (bearer type, mobility parameters and channel switching timers), based on service detection, is performed either in the RAN either in the CN indicating eventually this detection to the RAN. If the detected service needs high bit rate/throughput (35), the RNC reconfigures the multiRAB configuration (37) so that a bearer type providing high throughput is allocated to said service and the RNC reassigns mobility and channel switching parameters to maximise this throughput and the radio resources. If the service does not require high throughput (34), the RNC configures a bearer type and parameters for mobility and channel switching as specified by the standards to provide good performance (36), low dropped call rate.
