The method further can include determining at least one associated product type for the anchor product type. Determining the at least one associated product type for the anchor product type further can include: (a) determining at least one complementary product type for the anchor product type; (b) determining an anchor-product-type-name vector for an anchor-product-type name of the anchor product type; (c) determining a respective complementary-product-type-name vector for a respective complementary-product-type name of each of the at least one complementary product type; (d) determining a respective product-type-name similarity score between the anchor-product-type-name vector and the respective complementary-product-type-name vector for each of the at least one complementary product type; and (e) determining the at least one associated product type based at least in part on a product-type-level threshold and the respective product-type-name similarity score for each of the at least one complementary product type. The method also can include determining at least one associated item for the anchor item based at least in part on the at least one associated product type and at least one recommended item for the anchor item. The method further can include transmitting, via a computer network, the at least one associated item to be displayed on a user interface for a user. Other embodiments are described.

摘要： A recommender system can include a defender computing device that is configured to obtain customer interaction data characterizing customer interactions with an ecommerce marketplace. The defender computing device can also be configured to determine an item recommendation based on the customer interaction data using a trained differentially private recommendation model and send the item recommendation to the customer. The trained differentially private recommendation model is more likely to determine the same item recommendation after poisoned data is injected into the customer interaction data than a recommendation model that is not privately trained.

In some examples, a computing device receives a persona request identifying a user and a platform. In response, the computing device obtains user data associated with the user and a plurality of potential user personas from a database. For each of the plurality of potential user personas, the computing device then determines a combination score for the user based on the user data. The combination score indicates user's affinity to a corresponding potential user persona within the platform. The computing device selects at least one potential user persona of the plurality of potential user personas as a final user persona for the user and the platform based on the corresponding combination score.

The computing device is further configured to merge the discovery category rankings, the repeat category rankings and the item recommendation rankings into final recommendations based on one or more predetermined merging criteria and provide the final recommendations to the customer.
