    • An eye imaging apparatus can include a housing, an optical imaging system in the housing, and a light source in the housing to illuminate an eye. The optical imaging system can include an optical window at a front end of the housing with a concave front surface for receiving the eye as well as an imaging lens disposed rearward the optical window. The apparatus can comprise a light conditioning element configured to receive light from the light source and direct said light to the eye. The apparatus can further include an image sensor in the housing disposed to receive an image of the eye from the optical imaging system. In various embodiments, light conditioning element includes at least one multi-segment surface. In some embodiments, the housing is provided with at least one hermitic seal, for example, with the optical window. In some embodiments, time sequential illumination is employed.

    • Disclosed herein is an optical coherence tomography (OCT) imaging system having a wide field of view and comprising a handheld imaging probe. The handheld imaging probe can comprise a first imaging module and an OCT imaging module. The first imaging module can have a first illumination path and a separated first imaging path. The first imaging module can comprise an optical window configured to be in contact with a sample. The OCT imaging module can comprise a scanning MEMS mirror and a beam splitting dichroic mirror. The OCT imaging system can comprise at least one polarization maintaining fiber to reduce motion effect to stabilize and increase the OCT image quality. The handheld imaging probe can further comprise one or more lenses achromatized for optical dispersion for the light beams within a wavelength range of an OCT light source and for a field of view of the OCT imaging module.

The disposable cap can comprise an optically transparent window cover, a ridge, a side wall and a locking element. The window cover can comprise a convex back surface to match a concave shape of the optical window. The ridge of the disposable cap can extend distally and radially outward from the window cover and the side wall can extend proximally and radially outwardly from the ridge. The locking element can comprise one or more radially inward projections and one or more radially outward releasing tabs. A disposable packaging shell of the disposable cap also disclosed. Disclosed herein is also a plug-in disposable system comprising the disposable cap and the disposable packaging shell, configured to enable the disposable cap to be attached to and detached from the eye imaging apparatus.
