    • An electronic percussion instrument includes a head, a frame, and an impact sensor, and a plate serving as a vibration-damping member. The back of the head is divided into a main area (e.g. a main strike area) and an auxiliary area. The plate is ring-shaped sheet, made of a harder material (e.g. a metal) than the head, with an elongated hole and attached to the head to encompass or sandwich the main strike area of the head, thus demonstrating a vibration-damping effect. When the main strike area of the head is being struck with a beater, a vibration is caused to occur in the head and detected by the impact sensor to produce an electric signal which is used to generate an electronic musical sound while the vibration-damping member suppresses vibration being transmitted through the head due to an impact of the beater on the head.

    • An electronic percussion instrument includes a stand, a support member (e.g. a stay), a pad member with a head, and an impact sensor. The support member has an L-shape including a stand-attaching portion and a pad-attaching portion. The stand-attaching portion is fixed to the stand while the pad-attaching portion is extended vertically from the front end of the stand-attaching portion at an inflection point. Owing to the elasticity of the support member, the pad-attaching portion is deflected about the inflection point in the rearward direction in comparison with the stand-attaching portion due to a striking force applied to the head being struck with a beater. Upon detecting an impact applied to the head, the impact sensor generates an electric signal so as to generate a musical sound. Thus, it is possible to suppress floor reverberation by absorbing an impact between the head and the beater via the support member.

    • An electronic percussion instrument includes a head, a frame, and an impact sensor, and an air ventilation mechanism which includes a pair of cutouts which are distanced from each other and formed in the periphery of the head. The head is attached to the frame such that the periphery of the frame is externally enclosed with the periphery of the head precluding a pair of cutouts. Additionally, a pair of connecting parts with reduced thickness is linearly elongated across the back of the head in parallel. When the head is struck with a beater, a vibration is caused to occur in the head and detected by the impact sensor to produce an electric signal which is used to generate an electronic musical sound, wherein the air ventilation mechanism releases air from the back of the head so as to reliably secure noiselessness while reducing noise.

    • An electronic percussion instrument includes a stand, a pad member with a head, and an impact sensor, a cover member, and a support member (e.g. a stay). The support member has an L-shape including a stand-attaching portion and a pad-attaching portion which are perpendicularly unified together at an inflection point. The stand-attaching portion is attached to the stand while the pad-attaching portion is attached to the pad member. The cover member is attached to the support member such that the cover member will not brought into contact with the pad member via a clearance which is maintained irrespective of an impact applied to the head with a beater. The pad-attaching portion is backwardly deflected about the inflection point relative to the stand-attaching portion due to an impact on the head. Thus, it is possible to reduce sound-box reverberations and to secure noiselessness.
