摘要： A help guidance method utilizing an animated picture, used for an information processor including a memory for storing a help control program for controlling help guidance, animated picture help data, text help data and voice help data used for carrying out the help guidance, and a table for showing the correspondence relationship among the animated picture help data, the text help data and the voice help data. The method includes the steps of: activating, when a user inputs a help command for requiring the help guidance, the help control program to display fields, in which the help guidance is to be carried out, in the form of help menu; and reading out, when the user selects the field requiring the help guidance from the help menu, the animated picture help data corresponding to the selected contents, and at least one of the text help data and the voice help data, which correspond to the selected animated picture help data, from the memory means by referring to the table to output the animated picture help data and the at least one thereof.

摘要： High-quality video is provided using a small amount of coded bits. The moving picture decoding method performs inter-frame prediction processing. With the aforementioned inter-frame prediction processing, blocks with similar motion vectors from among the motion vectors in multiple blocks that have already been decoded are combined and a combined area is computed. A predicted vector for a target block to be decoded is computed using the motion vector of the aforementioned combined area, and a motion vector for the aforementioned target block is computed based on the aforementioned predicted vector and a difference vector which is included in a coded stream that is input. A predicted image is generated using the aforementioned motion vector, and a difference image which is included in the aforementioned coded stream and the aforementioned predicted image are added to generate a decoded image.

An optical coupler for measuring the optical power level of Pin and an optical variable attenuator are replaced by a variable optical coupler. The branch ratio of the variable optical coupler is varied, whereby the input optical power level Pin to an optical amplifier module is adjusted. As a result, an optical loss is reduced by an amount corresponding to the elimination of the optical attenuator, and also the OSNR of the optical amplifier module is improved.

摘要： Only a video cut (containing a frame) designated by a user is automatically and correctly extracted directly from a video image under playing operation at high speed. A judgement is made as to whether or not the frame of the video image is designated by the user. When such a user designation is made, a detection is made of a change point in the video cut containing this designated frame (reverse playing direction, forward playing direction). Under such a condition that a frame image immediately before this change point is displayed, the playing operation of the video image is brought into a pause state. Accordingly, only the video cut desired by the user can be extracted during a single playing operation of the video image, and the video image can be edited in a high efficiency.

摘要： An optical node apparatus according to the present invention amplifies a WDM signal light input to an input port, and thereafter, branches the amplified WDM signal light by an optical branching coupler to send the branched lights to first and second optical paths, and selects the light propagated through the first optical path by an optical switch to amplify the selected light by a post-amplifier, thereby outputting the amplified light from an output port, when the optical node apparatus is operated as an optical amplification repeating node. When the operational state is upgraded to an optical add/drop multiplexing node, an OADM section is connected between a set of connecting ports on the second optical path, and the adjustment of the OADM section is performed utilizing the WDM signal light branched by the optical branching coupler, and thereafter, the switching of the optical switch is performed to select the light on the second optical path side. As a result, since the switching the operational state from the optical amplification repeating node to the OADM node can be performed in a short time, it becomes possible to provide the continued communication service at the low initial installation cost.
