    • A help guidance method utilizing an animated picture, used for an information processor including a memory for storing a help control program for controlling help guidance, animated picture help data, text help data and voice help data used for carrying out the help guidance, and a table for showing the correspondence relationship among the animated picture help data, the text help data and the voice help data. The method includes the steps of: activating, when a user inputs a help command for requiring the help guidance, the help control program to display fields, in which the help guidance is to be carried out, in the form of help menu; and reading out, when the user selects the field requiring the help guidance from the help menu, the animated picture help data corresponding to the selected contents, and at least one of the text help data and the voice help data, which correspond to the selected animated picture help data, from the memory means by referring to the table to output the animated picture help data and the at least one thereof.

    • A WDM system includes a plurality of P to P WDM systems connected for wavelength-multiplexing optical signals of a plurality of wavelengths, transmitting them to a transmission path, transmitting wavelength-division multiplexed light while performing amplification by using optical AMP in the transmission path, and subjecting the wavelength-division multiplexed light to wavelength isolation at the reception side. An OSC which is a monitoring control signal such as a normal optical signal is used closely within one P to P WDM system. However, by transmitting and receiving the OSC between a plurality of P to P WDM systems, it is possible to solve a problem at the system rise. Moreover, since accumulative OSNR data is transmitted up to the P to P WDM system of the final stage, it is possible to detect an accurate OSNR value and a leak ASE light quantity at the end side.

    • An optical node apparatus according to the present invention amplifies a WDM signal light input to an input port, and thereafter, branches the amplified WDM signal light by an optical branching coupler to send the branched lights to first and second optical paths, and selects the light propagated through the first optical path by an optical switch to amplify the selected light by a post-amplifier, thereby outputting the amplified light from an output port, when the optical node apparatus is operated as an optical amplification repeating node. When the operational state is upgraded to an optical add/drop multiplexing node, an OADM section is connected between a set of connecting ports on the second optical path, and the adjustment of the OADM section is performed utilizing the WDM signal light branched by the optical branching coupler, and thereafter, the switching of the optical switch is performed to select the light on the second optical path side. As a result, since the switching the operational state from the optical amplification repeating node to the OADM node can be performed in a short time, it becomes possible to provide the continued communication service at the low initial installation cost.
