摘要： Methods and apparatus are provided for a UE to send channel status reports (CSR) to a network entity. In one novel aspect, the CSR is generated at the MAC layer. In one embodiment, the UE detects one or more triggering event, obtains a value of channel status from the PHY layer, generates the CSR based on the value obtained from the PHY layer and transmits the channel status report to an eNB. In another embodiment, the UE starts a timer and waits for a UL grant to transmit the CSR. If no UL grant is received before the timer expires, the UE triggers either a dedicated SR or a random access SR. In another novel aspect, the channel status report is generated in a NAS message and sent to a NAS entity through the NAS layer. In one embodiment, the tracking-area-update procedure is used for the CSR.

摘要： A method and device for monitoring paging signals are provided. A method of DRX cycle extension for a mobile terminal in an IDLE mode is provided. The method is used to extend the current DRX cycle. A longer paging cycle is designed by extending a UE-specific paging cycle or introducing a new coefficient in system information. A method for extending the SFN is proposed in the invention. A boundary and a serial number of the SFN in the longer wrap around are indicated by the SI. To avoid a situation in which the high paging load occurs in certain paging frames or subframes, the UE_ID is extended in the invention. The proposed mechanism can flexibly adjust the paging cycle and the SFN extension to meet the actual requirements. The long DRX cycle can save a lot of power consumption of the mobile terminals in the IDLE mode.

In one novel aspect, the radio link failure is detected upon detection of one or more radio link failure conditions on the serving beam. In one embodiment, the physical layer problem is considered as detected when one or more predefined events occur for a number of consecutive times on the serving beam. In another embodiment, the UE further considers potential recoveries to avoid frequent triggering of the radio link failure condition. In one embodiment, the UE performs the initial alignment procedure to recover the connection. In one embodiment, UE performs the initial alignment procedure without performing radio link recovery on the serving beam. In other embodiments, the UE performs the initial alignment procedure after performing radio link recovery on the serving beam and/or selects one or more beams for initial beam alignment.

摘要： This invention proposes efficient data transmission methods in the mobile cellular network. A specific resource pool is divided into several resource groups to indicate the size level of the data available for transmission. The base station allocates a proper UL grant to the terminal. Based on the allocated UL grant, the terminal compares the granted Transport Block (TB) size with the size of data available for transmission. If the UL grant is large enough, the terminal transmits the data available for transmission in the allocated UL resource, otherwise, re-attempts the random access procedure. In another example, the terminal transmits a BSR message and as much of the data as is available for transmission. The base station may grant additional UL resources if there is remaining data to be transmitted. A timer is used for the terminal to decide whether waiting for the additional UL grant from the base station.

At a second protocol layer (MAC), the processing circuitry (150) can determine whether the first signal (121) satisfies a beam failure criterion based on the first signal quality, and identify the second signal (122 or 123) as a candidate beam when the second signal (122 or 123) satisfies a candidate beam criterion based on the second signal quality. The first protocol layer (PHY) can transmit a request for beam failure recovery (BFR), and monitor reception of a network response for the request.
