摘要： A first enrolled user of a message transmission uses the system to transmit an invitation to a second user, who is not enrolled as a user of the system. The second user uses the invitation to download and install a messaging client onto the second user's local machine automatically. The system generates a unique ID for the second user automatically. The system executes the second user's messaging client and configures the second user's account and messaging client with the second user's unique ID and account information obtained from the second user. The system automatically transmits any message contained within the invitation to the second user upon completion of the previous steps. The system thereby minimizes the number of manual steps that must be performed by the second user to create an account and to configure the second user's messaging client for use with the message transmission system.

摘要： Traditional fax servers may be improved to interoperate with secure fax servers, enabling high-resolution, color fax receipt by the traditional fax server in addition to traditional low-resolution, black-and-white fax receipt. A process for authenticating and registering allows the traditional fax server to receive digital faxes sent through the secure fax server. Further, an automated registration process allows sending to any existing fax number through the secure fax server. If no verified destination is known, a traditional fax is sent. If that reaches a interoperable traditional fax server, the number may be verified, digital fax retrieved, and all future faxes to that number through the secure fax server delivered as high-resolution color digital faxes. This enables seamless fax quality upgrades within existing fax servers.

摘要： The present invention is a security monitoring system which effectively monitors a large number of areas in a cost effective manner using already existing communications infrastructure. More specifically, the method and apparatus of the present invention warns at least one security post of an undesired condition at a monitored area by sending a fax of an image of the monitored area via a phone line and/or by sending an E-mail of a color image via a global telecommunications network such as the Internet. Generally, the present invention includes a camera for creating a first image of the monitored area at a first time point and for creating a second image of the monitored area at a second time point. In addition, a data storage device stores the first image and the second image, and an image processor, coupled to the data storage device, compares the first image with the second image. A modem, coupled to the image processor, sends a fax of the second image to the at least one security post if the second image is substantially different from the first image. The present invention may further send via the modem a JPEG color image of the second image as an electronic mail to a predetermined security post if the second image is substantially different from the first image.

摘要： Nested email delivery substitutes a control token into an recipient email address, and uses the result as the username in email to a domain of a secure processing server. At the secure processing server, the recipient email address is extracted, control token identified, and any attachments processed and delivered based on the control token. The secure processing server may be an internet-based secure fax server and attachments processed as native documents for high-resolution, color faxing. Delivery may also be via certified email, or native documents may be processed into workspace storage or through other configured processing. Multiple tokens may be combined to trigger multiple actions.
