    • The invention relates to a battery management system for controlling an energy storage assembly, in particular for controlling the charging or discharging process of an energy storage device. The invention further relates to an energy storage assembly having a plurality of storage modules connected electrically in series, which energy storage assembly is controlled by an aforementioned battery management system. The invention further relates to a method for charging or discharging an aforementioned energy storage assembly. A battery management system (100) for controlling an energy storage assembly (10) is specified, which energy storage assembly comprises a plurality of storage modules (11, 12, 13, 14) connected electrically in series, wherein the battery management system (100) comprises: a measuring apparatus for measuring at least one value of a physical quantity of the storage modules (11, 12, 13, 14), a control apparatus (20), which controls a discharging current or charging current drawn from or supplied to the storage modules (11, 12, 13, 14) in dependence on the measured value of a physical quantity of at least one of the storage modules (11, 12, 13, 14), wherein the control apparatus (20) checks if a value of a physical quantity of one of the storage modules (11, 12, 13, 14) changes more quickly than the corresponding values of the physical quantity of the other storage modules (11, 12, 13, 14) of the energy storage assembly (10) or if a value of a physical quantity of one of the storage modules (11, 12, 13, 14) changes more quickly than a specified change value for the value.

    • The invention relates to a device for the charge equalization of an energy accumulator arrangement, and to a method for the charge equalization of accumulator modules of an energy accumulator arrangement. In order to provide a device or a method for charge equalization of accumulator modules in an energy accumulator arrangement, in which the accumulation capacity of the accumulator modules used is efficiently utilized with low circuit complexity, a device and a method for the charge equalization of an energy accumulator arrangement (11) is proposed, wherein the energy accumulator arrangement (11) comprises at least two accumulator modules (11a-11d) electrically connected in series and the device for charge equalization comprises: a switching device (12), which is coupled to the accumulator modules (11a-11d) of the energy accumulator arrangement; a DC-to-DC converter (14), which can be coupled to the accumulator modules (11a-11d) by means of the switching device (12); a control device (13) for monitoring parameters of the accumulator modules (11a-11d) and for controlling the switching device (12) and the DC-to-DC converter (14), wherein the entirety of the series-connected accumulator modules of the energy accumulator arrangement is provided for an intermediate accumulation of charge for the charge equalization between the accumulator modules.

    • In order to specify a battery pack that can be simply produced, that provides sufficient heat dissipation during the assembly and during the operation of the battery pack (10) and a reliable electrical connection between the connection structures (14) and the connection contacts (33, 34) of the battery cells (11), and that copes with the failure of an individual battery cell (11), a battery pack (10) is specified, comprising: at least two battery cells (11), wherein each battery cell (11) has a positive and a negative electrical connection contact (33, 34), wherein a connection structure (14) is associated with at least the electrically positive connection contacts (33) or the electrically negative connection contacts (34) of the battery cells (11), wherein each battery cell (11) is connected to the connection structure (14) by means of at least one connection element (15, 51), wherein a cross-section of each connection element (15, 51) is matched to a predetermined maximum current of a battery cell (11), wherein the connection element (15, 51) is fastened to a side of the connection structure (14) facing the battery cells (11). Each connection structure (14) has a current strength that corresponds to the sum of the individual currents of each connected battery cell (11).
