    • A manufacturing tray and system for ergonomic operations includes a tray, conveyance system, and loading and unloading stations configured with optimal dimensions and placement to allow an operator to load and unload trays while maintaining ideal standing posture. A conveyor system and trays transported thereon have a width less than the length of an average human forearm, while lanes of a tray rack and a flow rack open in front of a tray loading position on the conveyor. The height of the conveyor has a height approximately the height of the hips of an average standing operator. The tray includes a sliding rail for low-friction sliding of the tray along the conveyor. The tray may also include a handle which allows an operator to flip the tray position from vertical to horizontal or horizontal to vertical depending on whether the tray is to be stored or used.

    • A method is provided for processing an image to optimize print time of the image by a print apparatus based on the size of the image to be printed and the print pass thresholds of the print apparatus. A dimension of the image corresponding to the dimension along the sub-scanning axis of the image as it will be printed by the print apparatus is obtained, along with the corresponding number of print passes required to print the image. An analysis is performed to determine whether the size of the image could be reduced to require one less print pass by the print apparatus in printing the reduced image based on the proximity of the determined dimension to the range of dimensions that will result in one less print pass by the print apparatus. If the size of the image may be reduced such that the image could be printed in one less print pass while also meeting optional criteria such as enforcement of a maximum image reduction threshold, the image is scaled prior to printing to reduce the number of print passes performed by the print apparatus in printing the image.

Given an embroidery design comprising a plurality of stitch representations and a lighting angle for the simulated embroidery design image, embodiments process the stitch representations to determine a stitch length and lighting angle and select from a stitch image database a stitch image corresponding to the stitch length and lighting angle, and place the selected stitch on a rendering canvas in a position corresponding to the stitch position indicated by the stitch representation. When rendered, all of individual stitch image on the rendering canvas appear to be illuminated from the same direction.

    • Electronic document design systems and methods allowing a user engaged in customizing an electronic product to re-crop product images in a manner that is compatible with the product layout. Upon selection of an image area in the product design, the user can choose to re-crop the image currently displayed in the image area or to select and crop a different image to be used in the selected image area. A cropping indicator that can be resized and repositioned is provided to the user. The cropping indicator is automatically sized to have and retain the same height to width ratio as the selected image area. Upon completion of any resizing or repositioning operation, the selected image area of the electronic product is updated to reflect the cropping changes made by the user.
