摘要： The bee washing system washes worker bees and filters out varroa mites so that a beekeeper/operator can estimate the number of infected bees in a hive. The system includes a bee containment section with a coarse mesh filter, and a wash material section with a fine mesh filter. The system is structured so that when the bee containment section is loaded with bees, and the wash material section is loaded with wash material, an operator washes the bees by shaking the system. When the wash is complete, the operator detaches the wash material section from the system and counts the mites present on the fine mesh filter.

摘要： Disclosed is an efficient delivery output, for an oxalic acid vaporizer, for use with a hive-mounted vaporizer adapter device to more uniformly distribute hot vapor into an interior of a beekeeping device. The efficient delivery output includes an output body having a proximal end and a distal end, and an oxalic acid vapor passageway extending between the proximal end and the distal end; wherein the proximal end is configured to direct and concentrate oxalic acid vapors received from an oxalic acid reservoir of the oxalic acid vaporizer; and the distal end is configured to deliver the concentrated oxalic acid vapors to a central area of the beekeeping device. The vaporizer adapter device engages with a beekeeping hive. The adapter device includes an adapter body (e.g., a flat plate) having at least one hive engagement feature (e.g., side edges of the plate); at least one manipulation feature (e.g., a lip for gripping a front of the plate); and a recess for providing a reservoir (e.g., a space for the hot acid vapor to gather) below the hive, the reservoir being open to an interior of the hive, the recess including a port (e.g., a through hole) configured to accommodate the efficient delivery output.

摘要： This invention concerns a method for preventing and treating Colony Collapse Disorder, consisting in the use of an automated device that delivers a diet specifically calibrated for consumption by farm colonies of bees to be treated. The apparatus comprises a box-like container (10) accommodating in its interior at least one reservoir for liquid-tight, accessible from outside through a nozzle (4), an atomizing device of a liquid solution or suspension contained in the reservoir, means for the delivery (2, 1) of the liquid atomized solution or suspension into micrometric drops outside the apparatus, and a control unit programmed for timing the delivery of the solution or suspension to the outside, for the determination of the quantity of solution or suspension delivered and for emitting alarm signals in case of malfunction, the apparatus being powered DC with the energy supplied by a solar panel (5) located outside of the container.The liquid solution or suspension comprises tonic and nutrient ingredients, mainly consisting of milk powder, sugars and lower organic acids, antioxidant and antiseptic ingredients contained in plant extracts and healing ingredients to bees, such as essential oils of thyme and oxalic acid.

摘要： A beehive for honeybees having a configuration that allows a beekeeper to inspect the hive at regular intervals with minimal disturbance to the honeybees. The bees work comb frames contained within an array of master frames. The master frames are pivotably attached to a support pole with connectors fixed to the master frames. The connectors are arranged so that the array of master frames containing the comb frames are side by side and in a rectangular cross section when the beehive is closed. The master frames can be rotated around the support pole either individually or in groups allowing inspection of the comb frames without damaging the comb frames.
