A polymer fiber structure is introduced in a first state to the innerspring to provide an assembly. The assembly is further processed and the polymer fiber structure is simultaneously altered from the first state to a second state.

摘要： An apparatus and method are provided for a pocketed spring seating unit to be incorporated into a couch or sofa. The pocketed spring seating unit comprises a spring array that includes a multiplicity of pocketed springs disposed in a spring layer arrangement. Each of the pocketed springs comprises an independently operable coil spring covered with a flexible wrap. An envelope comprising insulating materials surrounds the spring array. The spring array and the envelope are attached to a rigid platform that is disposed below the envelope. The rigid platform has a length and width that match a seating area of the couch or sofa and is configured such that the pocketed spring seating unit may be laid into an upholstery frame of the couch or sofa. An exterior cloth material overlays one or more exterior surfaces of the pocketed spring seating unit.

摘要： Methods and systems for no-glue pocketed spring unit construction. Rows of pocketed springs, preferably arranged into modules of more than two pocketed springs surrounding a central hole, are welded together when paired probes and anvils press layers of pocketed spring fabric from the rows of pocketed springs together and a welding pulse of current is transmitted through wires on the probes to heat the wire it is pressed against the fabric. Non-stick material interposed between the wires and the fabric prevents melted fabric from sticking to the wires.

摘要： A pocket mattress includes coil springs arranged as spring units, arranged successively in elongate strings, enclosed in a covering material forming pockets. A plurality of the strings are arranged side by side, the strings including a plurality of transverse seams arranged parallel to the longitudinal direction of the coil springs to separate the pockets. A middle portion of the transverse seams attaches at least a layer of covering material from either side of the spring unit to each other. At least some of the seams are back folded seams, in which the covering material proximate to an end portion of the back folded seams is back folded towards the middle portion of the transverse seams. As such, the back folded transverse seams each have at least one end portion attaching at least twice as many layers of covering material as in a corresponding transverse seam which is not back folded.
