摘要： An articulator for dental use includes a first base, a second base coupled to the first base, and an occlusion pin configured to couple the first base and the second base in a closed position. The first base includes a first base body including a first groove configured to receive plaster, a first hinge portion configured to extend outwardly from one end of the first base body, and a plurality of pin holes. The second base includes a second base body including a second groove configured to receive the plaster, a second hinge portion configured to extend outwardly from one end of the second base body, and a plurality of guide pin holes. The second hinge portion is configured to couple to the first hinge portion via the occlusion pin in the closed position.

摘要： Systems and methods are disclosed to prevent interference between two physical tooth models in a physical dental arch model by acquiring the coordinates of a plurality of points on the surfaces of each of the two physical tooth models and digitally representing the surfaces of each of the two physical tooth models by a mesh of points in three dimensions using the acquired coordinates. The meshes representing the surfaces of the two physical tooth models intersect at least at one point to form an overlapping portion. The method also includes calculating the depth of the overlapping portion between the two meshes to quantify the interference of the two physical tooth models.

The apparatus includes a first tray positioned opposite a second tray and a dearticulating hinge coupling the first tray to the second tray. At least one of the first hinging element and the second hinging element includes a disengaging element configured to engage a spur to uncouple the first hinging element from the second hinging element upon extending the first tray and the second tray beyond a predefined angle relative to one another.

摘要： A method and apparatus form a tooth positioner for repositioning at least one tooth of a patient and provide a dental arch cast of a patient, separate at least one tooth from the dental arch cast, fix a pin in a stump part of the at least one separated tooth, and in any non-separated teeth, reconstruct the dental arch cast of the patient by aligning the separated teeth to correspond to the alignment in the patient's mouth and hold the pins in a material that may be softened, soften the material, apply force to the pin fixed in the at least one tooth to be repositioned to move it in a desired direction to obtain a realigned arch, and form a tooth positioner corresponding to the realigned arch. The tooth positioner is used by having the patient wear it for a period of time.

The plate portion includes a model support surface configured to support a model of a person's teeth. The model may be formed directly on the model support surface using an impressionless technique.
