摘要： A disposable absorbent article utilized for absorption and containment of urine and other body exudates may incorporate components that may be detached from the article after use to provide disposal options based upon the user's preferences and circumstances, such as flushing down a toilet or septic tank, composting, recycling, or disposing in a landfill. Sanitary grips and sanitary gap may provide sanitary placements to detach the article. Ripping features incorporated along the top liner, back liner, or outer liner enclosure may also be used to detach the article. A removable liner may be detached from the top liner or outer liner enclosure. The absorbent core may be released after the article has been detached. To reduce the risk of clogging the toilet, a membrane may be utilized to create a barrier between the absorbent core and high-absorbency material to obstruct the high-absorbency material from being released and flushed.

摘要： A two-piece diaper system having a re-usable shell and a removable and replaceable absorbent pad is provided. The re-usable diapering system consists of a non-absorbent outer liquid impervious shell, as in a standard disposable diaper but without an integral central absorbent layer which is exposed to liquids in the crotch area. A separate disposable absorbent pad is provided in the central crotch area of the disposable diaper which is not sandwiched in the shell. The central area of the shell is stiffened to facilitate manufacture and handling by the user.

The inner longitudinal edge of each side panel is folded inward to create a fold line and fold area. Elastics are located just inside the fold line to create an inner gusset. Elastics are situated parallel to the longitudinal edge of the outer layer to create an outer gusset. Neither the inner nor outer gusset is in contact with the inner layer. Each side panel is adhered to the outer layer in the margin along each longitudinal edge of the outer layer that is not in contact with the inner layer and along the outer margins of the inner layer. The fold area is adhered to the inner layer except at the middle portion of the fold area, thereby allowing the inner gusset to stand up and away from the inner layer.
