摘要： This invention involves a multilayer low friction ambulatory pad for treating or preventing bedsores and pressure sores, and for managing fluids discharged from a person's body. The pad may have the form of a diaper with panels fittable to a person's body. The pad has a first slippery nonporous layer on which is a moisture absorbent second layer. A slippery, thin, porous third layer is on the second layer. The three layers are peripherally bonded to form a nonpenable seam which permits unbonded areas of the layers to slide slightly with respect to each other. The third layer may be sprayed with a filmy, dry, slippery fourth layer. A fifth layer of lubricating material which may be a microencapsulated lubricant or a free lubricant is applied to the third and fourth layers to form a very slippery top surface. The fourth and fifth layers do not clog the pores of the third layer to pass air and fluids to the absorbent second layer. In other pads, the absorbent layer is omitted. All pads can be shaped to fit various portions of a person's body to which the pads can be attached. The pads can be discarded after a single use.

摘要： The present invention relates to a nonwoven fabric comprising a plurality of polypropylene-containing fibers that form a nonwoven web, which fibers in addition contain a slip agent, the web has a side which is provided with an alternating pattern which consists of individualized bonded areas which bonded areas are in the form of rods which are arranged in the cross direction of the web, the alternating pattern of individualized bonded areas defines a non-bonded area, the web has a basis weight on the range of from 5-25 g/m2, the surface of the bonded areas is in the range of 5-20% of the total surface of the side, and the surface of the non-bonded area is in the range of 80-95% of the total surface of the side. The present invention further relates to a process for forming the nonwoven fabric.

This urine-absorption pad includes: an outer surface sheet; an absorption body; an inner surface sheet; a left side sheet; a right side sheet; an overlap sheet; and a low friction member. The overlap sheet is provided to a gluteal region. A right side edge of the overlap sheet is joined to a left side part of the right side sheet. A left side edge of the overlap sheet is joined to a right side part of the left side sheet. The low friction member is provided between the overlap sheet and the inner surface sheet.

摘要： This multilayer low friction pad for reducing shear and friction forces on a person's body, and for preventing and treating sores on a person's body caused by shear forces, friction, pressure, chafing and moisture, has a first layer made of soft, flexible foam material which is thick enough to serve as a shock absorber, facilitate handling, and prevent wrinkling and crumpling of the pad. A second layer bonded to the foam layer has a very slippery surface on which is a third layer composed of a slippery lubricant cooperating with the second layer to reduce shear forces and provide a working surface having a negligibly small coefficient of friction. The first layer has an exposed side rough enough to prevent frictionally displacement of the pad while in use. A nonporous fourth layer can be bonded between the first and second layers to serve as a moisture barrier. One or more drain holes can be provided in the pad underlaid by a highly absorbent mat attached to the exposed side of the first layer. The pad can be shaped as a cap, sock, glove, etc. to fit on a body part to be protected from shear forces, friction, pressure, chafing and moisture.

The chassis includes an inner sheet, an outer sheet and a liquid-absorbent panel interposed between these inner and outer sheets. The absorbent panel lies at least in the crotch region and extends into the front and rear waist regions in the longitudinal direction. In the rear waist region, a skin-contactable sheet adapted to come in contact with the wearer's skin is attached to the inner surface of the inner sheet. The skin-contactable sheet has front and rear ends extending in the transverse direction and lateral portions extending in the longitudinal direction and only the lateral portions are bonded to the inner sheet.
