    • A catheter assembly used for extracorporeal treatment, such as dialysis, of blood or other body fluid, includes an outer and inner catheter in a coaxial relationship. A fluid path is provided by a passageway defined between the catheters and a distal end of the outer catheter, and another fluid path is provided through a lumen and a distal end of the inner catheter. A sealing member is coupled to one of the catheters. The member in a first position is configured to permit the distal ends of the catheters to transport fluid, while in a second position the member is configured to inhibit at least one of the distal ends from transporting fluid. The sealing member may include a flared portion for enhance sealing. The sealing member may also have a portion extending outward from the catheters to position the distal ends away from vessel contact.

    • A catheter comprising a first lumen for receiving a guidewire and having an exit opening at a distal tip of the catheter. A second lumen, adjacent the first lumen and separated from the first lumen by a common wall, the second lumen configured for receiving contrast fluid, wherein perforations are formed in the common wall; a guidewire in the first lumen the guidewire being configured to be capable of advancement distally to extend out of the exit opening, the guidewire having two conditions: a first condition in which the guidewire is advanced distally to block the perforations whereby fluid may not flow from the second lumen to the first lumen; a second condition in which the guidewire is withdrawn proximally to unblock the perforations whereby fluid may flow from the second lumen into the first lumen and thence out of the exit opening.

    • A prosthetic valve delivery system for percutaneously delivering and deploying a prosthetic valve within an existing valve is disclosed. The delivery system includes a stented prosthetic valve having a balloon-expandable stent portion with a prosthetic valve disposed therein and at least one self-expanding stent portion. The delivery system further includes a dual balloon catheter having a first balloon on which the stented prosthetic valve is disposed during delivery and a second balloon. Upon delivery within the existing valve, the self-expanding stent portion contacts the existing valve and the first balloon expands the balloon-expandable stent portion to a first diameter such that the stented prosthetic valve is in a first stage deployment configuration. The second balloon then expands the balloon-expandable stent portion to a second diameter, greater than the first diameter, such that the stented prosthetic valve is in a second stage deployment configuration being fully deployed within the existing valve.

    • A dialysis catheter includes an elongate catheter member having an outer wall member defining proximal and distal end regions, and first and second longitudinal lumens. The outer member includes first and second ports in respective fluid communication with the first and second longitudinal lumens. The first opening and the first lumen define an inflow passage. The second opening and the second longitudinal lumen define an outflow passage. A valve is disposed relative to the outer member proximal of the first port. The valve is adapted to move from a closed position to an open position in response to a predetermined vacuum pressure level realized within the first longitudinal lumen to permit flow of blood through the valve and into the first longitudinal lumen. The valve may be adapted to move to the open position in the event of a luminal occlusion.
