    • A static classifier cage is formed in upper and lower tiers of circumferentially spaced bar-shaped vanes of wear-resistant material. The lower tier is formed by and between a bottom ring and an intermediate ring. The top tier is formed by and between the intermediate ring and a topmost ring. In each tier, the lowermost ring is provided with slots to receive and act as a seat for the vertically oriented vanes while the upper ring in the tier is provided with radially outwardly opening notches into which the vanes are moved in a radial fashion. After the vanes are installed, a retainer is fastened into position to prevent the vanes from backing out of the notches.

    • In a vertical roller mill including a fixed classifier, a proportion of coarse particles in a pulverized coal product is reduced. The vertical roller mill (10) includes a cyclone-type fixed classifier (20A) provided within a casing (11) for classifying fine powder having a small particle diameter by centrifugal force and discharging the classified powder to the outside. The fixed classifier (20A) is adapted to discharge the fine powder to the outside from a pulverized coal outlet (16) at an upper side through a lower end portion of an inner cylinder (24) provided inside a cone (21) by introducing a solid-gas two-phase flow into the inside from a fixed vane inlet window (22) opened on the cone (21) and swirling the solid-gas two-phase flow using a fixed vane (23) arranged in the vicinity of the inner side of the fixed vane inlet window (22). A deflector (26) is provided in the vicinity of the fixed vane inlet window (22) for strengthening the solid-gas two-phase flow delivered into the inside of the cone (21) from the fixed vane inlet window (22) in the downward direction.

    • Separator device for edible meal, comprising a vertical cylindrical container (4) provided at its the bottom with a discharge rotary valve (9). A feeding duct (5) extends axially into the top portion of the container, and swirling means are provided so that the meal to be treated will reach with a whirling flow the central portion of a distributing chamber (31) having equispaced lateral openings (32) from which equal spiral-shaped tubes (33) protrude outwards with the same curvature, whereby the meal is discharged tangentially onto the periphery of an underlying horizontal dish (6) which is arranged co-axially in the upper portion of the container (4).
