A hone edge extends along a portion of each of the end cutting edges, the associated corner and a portion of the corresponding one of the plurality of helical cutting edges.

摘要： A surface-coated cutting tool of the present invention includes: a hard coating layer which is vapor-deposited on a surface of a tool body made of tungsten carbide-based cemented carbide and has an average thickness of 2 mm to 10 mm, in which (a) the hard coating layer comprises a layer made of complex nitride of Al, Cr, and B in which a ratio (atomic ratio) of the amount of Cr is 0.2 to 0.45 and a ratio (atomic ratio) of the amount of B is 0.01 to 0.1 to the total amount of Al, Cr, and B, and (b) in an area within 100 mm from an edge tip on a flank face of the surface-coated cutting tool, the hard coating layer has a granular crystal grain structure and the average grain size of granular crystal grains is 0.1 mm to 0.4 mm on the surface of the hard coating layer.

摘要： Described is an end mill with four straight front cutting edges arranged on a front side and a corresponding number of circumferential cutting edges that each emanate from the outer nose of the front cutting edges and are separated from each other by flutes. One of the front cutting edges passes over into a second cutting edge via a free surface intersecting line. The additional front cutting edges lying between the latter in the cutting direction are offset relative to each other by a first angular pitch of 180°, and end before the middle. So that the end mill can be used in an especially advantageous manner for incorporating dimensionally and positionally precise pilot holes or chamfering curved work piece surfaces, the first front cutting edge is offset relative to the second front cutting edge in the cutting direction by a second angular pitch ranging between 173° and 177°, preferably between 174° and 176°, wherein the first front cutting edge is offset relative to the next additional front cutting edge in the cutting direction by a third angular pitch ranging between 90° and 94°, preferably between 91° and 93°.

The front part has cutting edges, each having a longitudinal extension, and chip flutes, each having a longitudinal extension. The front part is made of a monolithic piece of ceramic. The rear part is configured to be fixed in a rotatable tool body or a rotatable chuck. The rear part is also made of a monolithic piece of cemented carbide. A front end surface of the rear part has a smaller area than a rear end surface of the front part. The front end surface of the rear part and a rear end surface of the front part are permanently bonded or brazed to each other by a joint.

摘要： The present invention relates to a method of making a cemented carbide comprising mixing in a slurry a first powder fraction and a second powder fraction, subjecting the slurry to milling, drying, pressing and sintering. The first powder fraction is made from cemented carbide scrap recycled using the Zn recovery process, comprising the elements W, C, Co, and at least one or more of Ta, Ti, Nb, Cr, Zr, Hf and Mo, and the second powder fraction comprising virgin raw materials of WC and possibly carbides and/or carbonitrides of one or more of Cr, Zr, W, Ta, Ti, Hf and Nb. The first powder fraction is subjected to a pre-milling step, prior to the step of forming the slurry, to obtain an average grain size of between 0.2 to 1.5 μm.
