    • This invention relates to a method and reactor of manufacturing an object by solid freeform fabrication, especially an object made of titanium or titanium alloys. The reactor of production of an object of a weldable material by solid freeform fabrication comprises a reactor chamber which is closed to the ambient atmosphere, wherein the reactor is given a design such that all adjacent wall elements forming the reactor chamber are joined with an obtuse angle (larger than 90°), the actuator located below the reactor chamber is given a design such that the actuator protrudes into the reactor chamber through an opening at the bottom of the reactor chamber holding the support substrate inside the reactor chamber, the opening is sealed by at least one elastic gas impermeable membrane which is gas tight attached to the reactor wall at the opening and to the actuator, the actuator located outside the reactor chamber is given a design such that the actuator protrudes into the reactor chamber through an opening at the side of the reactor chamber holding the high energy plasma transferred arc welding torch with wire feeder of the weldable material inside the reactor chamber, the opening is sealed by the at least one elastic gas impermeable membrane which is gas tight attached to the reactor wall at the opening and to the actuator, and the reactor is equipped with at least one closable gas inlet located at the lowest level of the reactor chamber and at least one closable gas outlet located at the highest level of the reactor chamber.

    • The invention relates to a new preparation technique of composites, in details, i.e. a method of producing laminated composite materials of different alloys. In the preparation method, the bi-layer or multi-layer composites are prepared by means of the equal channel angular extrusion/pressure (ECAE/ECAP). Firstly, the appropriate alloys pairs or groups are selected, and the rational arrangements are carried out after pre-treating surfaces; then, the clad process is performed by extrusion and shear deformation in ECAE die; finally, the composite material is produced after one single pass or multiple passes clad extrusion. The annealing treatment can be performed subsequently to enhance the interfacial bonding strength by diffusion after the clad extrusion, and the heat treatment parameters consist of annealing temperature and holding time, which are chosen carefully to meet the demands of the refining microstructures and good properties for both the interfaces and individual component metals. Consequently, the layer-metal composite is produced with the firmly bonding interface, good microstructures and excellent properties. In the invention, the selection and assembling manners of the materials are very free, such as composites with bi-layer or interval multi-layer manners, and the method is suitable for most of the metal materials. The invention is a new method of fabricating composites and the preparation cost is low enough to meet the demand of large-scale industrial production.

    • A helical reamer for reaming a bone cavity has a longitudinally extending support shaft having a first driven end and a second end having a tip for insertion into the bone cavity. The research for a multiplicity of stamped flat reamer plates each having a plurality of cutting flutes formed on an external surface thereof and a central internal opening to receive the support shaft. The internal opening includes a coupling element in the form of a key and keyway rotationally coupling each reamer plate to the support shaft. The key and keyway allowing each reamer plate to be slightly rotated with respect to the flutes of an adjacent reamer plate. The coupling elements for rotationally coupling the plates to the drive shaft can be mating flattened areas on the internal surface of the stamping and the external surface of the drive shaft. A broach of stamped plates is also shown.
