The substrate has dimensions of volumes, cross-sectional areas, and thicknesses at or near the ultimate tip (e.g., at a distance up to about 2 micrometers from the sharpened tip). The substrate is coated with one or more materials and has novel volumes, cross-sectional areas, and thicknesses at or near the ultimate tip (e.g., at a distance up to about 2 micrometers from the sharpened tip). The thickness of the substrate at 2 micrometers back from the ultimate tip is at or below about 0.977 micrometers and at or below about 1.173 micrometers for a coated substrate at the same distance. These dimensional values are measured robustly with an atomic force microscope and provide reduced cut forces for improved blade performance.

The method also comprises inducing a relative movement between a PTFE material and an edge (32) of the razor blade (30) attached to the blade support (40) to deposit PTFE onto at least a portion of a surface of the edge (32) of the razor blade (30) to form a re-coated razor blade (30) attached to the blade support (40). The method further comprises arranging the re-coated razor blade (30) attached to the blade support (40) into a housing (20) of a razor cartridge (10). 摘要： A method of making a razor cartridge including providing at least one razor blade having a cutting edge extending along a length of the razor blade and printing at least one printed object on the length is provided. The razor blade is positioned between the guard and the cap where the visible surface of the at least one razor blade includes a printed object. The printed object may extend continuously along the length of the razor blade and/or may have multiple portions having a comb-like structure. The printed object appears as a solid object to a viewer's naked eye. The solid object includes a plurality of printed ink dots not visible to the viewer's naked eye. The printed object of flexible, polymer ink may act as a guard element on the razor blade which helps with glide and to manage a user's skin (e.g., bulge) during shaving.
