摘要： A laminated glazing comprising first and second sheets of glass joined by an interlayer structure is described. The second sheet of glass has a first edge surface in an upper region of the laminated glazing. The first edge surface of the second sheet of glass is configured to comprise at least one region between first and second edges of the second sheet of glass such that in the at least one region the shortest distance along a straight line on the first edge surface of the second sheet of glass connecting a first point on the first edge of the second sheet of glass to a second point on the second edge of the second sheet of glass is at least 1.7 times the thickness of the second sheet of glass. A method of making the laminated glazing is also described.

The interlayer has an internal visible light transmission above 50% and an internal solar energy transmission below 55% when the interlayer is at 15° C. and an internal visible light transmission below 20% and an internal solar energy transmission below 20% when the interlayer is at 75° C. The internal haze of the interlayer is below 3.5%.

The glass sheet has a first portion extending between the first edge and the intermediate location and a second portion extending between the intermediate portion and the second edge, wherein the first portion has a generally uniform thickness and the second portion has a varying thickness. The thickness of the second portion can either increase or decrease from the intermediate location to the second edge. A laminated transparency incorporating the glass sheet as well as a method of forming a glass ribbon having a changing thickness profile along at least a portion of the width of the ribbon are also disclosed.

The intermediate layer includes one cover layer based on a thermoplastic polymer, and a border seal. The first glass pane is arranged with an offset relative to the second glass pane, the intermediate layer is cut back along at least one edge of the composite glass pane by a border distance, and the border seal is arranged in a border gap delimited by the first glass pane, the second glass pane and the intermediate layer. The border seal contains a polymer fusible with a polymer of the cover layers.
